Slightly more daft and more amusing for 01/04:

BMW win at April 1st. I remember seeing a broadsheet ad a few years ago for LED impregnated windscreens which could display messages. The car in the ad had "get out of my way" on the screen as it was depicted driving in the outside lane of a motorway, headlights on.http://www.bmw.co.uk/en/publicPools/campaign-pages...
I like this time a companies life when they are making mad money, they come up with new ideas not copies. No reason this couldn't be real with the amount of money they pull in from China.
I want a convertible LR with the evoque suspension but stretched with 7 seats (2 fold up) and a boot shaped to sit on.

How funny - for the first time in about 2-3 years i went to the bmw website today - and when i saw your post i thought - ive seen that somehwere - but didnt pay it any attention when i saw it - was too busy looking for the used car search!just goes to show the power of the brain that i recognised it without having even looked at it originally ! (btw i think that pram/pushchair/baby chariot looks quite good - not that i would ever have the need for one now... ;-)

Very feeble, guys. For a good April Fool, you'll need to be either inventive, mildly shocking or plain funny.
This is none of those.
BMW have a great history of good April Fool's ads (less so with today's P.R.A.M. http://fox43.com/2013/04/01/bmw-announces-the-late...
The difference between the brains behind Mercedes and those behind BMW is made manifest in these little details.
BMW cares. BMW gets it, Merc has been unaware of its own brand since about 1986..
PH should be about "cool stuff" and, maybe, some clever, timely satire.
"Must try harder", boys.

Personally, I've always thought April Fools was about fooling people, hence the name. And hence why we tried to cut it as close as we could to realism. Playing it for laughs is easy - actually making something up that's realistic enough to fool people into believing it is, I think, trickier. Judging by the majority of the comments here, I think we achieved what we set out to do, to an extent! StrangeRover said:

Sorry that you feel that way, but let's not get our knickers in a twist, eh? After all, it's only a bit of fun! Tomorrow is another day, and all that.Megaflow said:
What's odd is, for an April fool, I reckon this would actually sell very well!
Funnily enough, I thought exactly this when I was writing it! It's really not beyond the realms of possibility, and while I suspect Land Rover wouldn't want to dilute the RR brand by stretching it to non-SUVs, you can see a possible argument within JLR for branding a shooting brake with the 'aspiring lifestyle-activity associations' (if you'll excuse the lapse into marketing drivel) of Range Rover. The design language would probably work better than a big XJ estate, too!Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
