Having been around people making rwd cossie mk3/4 escorts, if it were me building a long term project I would go buy something like a rolling chimaera chassis to stick whatever running gear into and then pick a shell to make fit ontop. That way youve got a running spaceframe that you can change the body on if you get bored and will probably beabout the same amount of fabrication as if you were just cutting a shell about to stick different running gear in.

I've seen a black Mini with that conversion he had the wheels extra wise outside of the arches but that aside the engine worked really well.
