Followed! Thanks!
Thanks a lot! Strangely we have so few views from ppl in the UK despite the popularity of this thread here and the dreaded hashtags mostly being globally appropriate. The dark arts of social media are a strange and time draining pursuit...supacool1 said:
Amazing as always, Rupro. Enjoyed the bikes of HK, Some quality metal there.
Cheers! Glad you like the bikes too. Fun to shoot, if a lot harder.furrywoolyhatuk said:
What an eclectic mix of cool vehicles and great shots to boot.
Thanks! Glad you like them.Miserablegit said:
No, I think the reference was the bronze/gold 4x4 monstrosity with the "classy" numberplate and beneath it was a lovely Heritage edition Defender 110.
Oh! Hahaha! Now I get you. Well, horses for courses I guess. Putting looks aside, that gold Merc sounds absolutely insane. I mean like Zeus with anger management issues.Well, I've been back in the UK exactly four months now, so I was happy to be able to finally get to the track to experience a proper event. It was the Castle Combe Spring Action Day '22 on Saturday, so I got myself roadside in the early hours and sat in a frosty ditch with the intention of getting some cars arriving - and arrive they did! After 2 full days of selection and editing, I'm sharing some of the highlights of the day both on and off the track below, with all the edited images at the following link:

If you know any of the drivers/owners, please feel free to drop them the link below. Maybe I snapped them - maybe you're one of them! Enjoy!

Less than 15 minutes away from me .
I've seen that orange Lexus quite a few times on my commute.
I'm glad to say I haven't seen that BMW pick-up-thingumy-jig!

I liked the BMW pickup... HK car regs were so stifling, I'm happy to see anything with an angle grinder taken to it that can be driven on the road! Haha.

Very cool cars! What a difference in light compared to HK. Was better over there
The UK has generally far better light than HK. Golden light is common and the long sunrises and sunsets are wonderful. Of course, HK can have some dramatic light and weather, but it's uncommon compared to here.EDIT: I think it looks like HK has great light as almost all of our HK shots were early in the AM. We would usually pack up at 0930 as the light was way too harsh and flat to take decent images.

Not mine I'm afraid as I'm the next gen along from that one, also as it's in a bit of a mess I'm not taking it out so much and my first show will be JDM Combe in July followed by Simply Japanese at Beaulieu
Depending on your location there's usually an interesting mix of stuff at the Winchester Auto Barn they just did the March breakfast meet which had cars all over the place from EK9 Civic's right up to a F40.
Thanks for the heads up! Not too much of a trek for me. I will try and find out when upcoming ones are.Depending on your location there's usually an interesting mix of stuff at the Winchester Auto Barn they just did the March breakfast meet which had cars all over the place from EK9 Civic's right up to a F40.
Went along to the Wheelsday 2022 event in Aldershot yesterday. Wow. Just, wow. What an insane turnout of vehicles! A flavour for everyone. Here are a few random highlights below...
And here are all 1,400 pictures that I've edited since yesterday. I went for coverage over creativity as far as the photography went, but well worth a look just to see the gems that were in attendance: https://sundaymorningdrive.pixieset.com/15thapril2...

Good evening PHeads! Thought I'd give you a little bit of an update of what's been going on. Whilst my mate continues to shoot the car scene in Hong Kong, I have been getting out and about locally to a few events. I'd like to do more, but as always work gets in the way. Still, many, many, many photos have been shot and here are a few from here and HK in recent months. You can check all of them out at www.sundaymorningdrive.com

Even moving back from a place with insane cars in HK, I have spent a lot of time uttering this sentiment since seeing some of the modded and classic cars in the UK.andrew said:
+1
+1 for you, sir!News from HK regarding the car scene is a little bleak. They've now introduced a new rule which basically makes it impossible to bring over and register any car that is over 20 years old (link below). This is not good news at all for the many fans of classic (and let's be honest, not very old at all) cars in the region and, as you can see from our many photos in HK, 20+ year old cars make up a big proportion. This is all in the name of 'noise and pollution' - pull the other one, it's got bells on.

Hello PHers! I trust you had a good long weekend. The idea of a full working week ahead is not an exceptionally giddy one, so I thought I would make your Monday brighter with some eye candy from yesterday's Haynes Breakfast Club meet down in Sparkford. What an epic spread of cars to suit every taste! Here are some of the highlights.
PS I also created a separate thread with the photos. I thought I may start doing that going forward (continuing to also pop them in here), just because there's so much more UK content now.
Enjoy!

lovely photos as always. Lots of v cool vehicles in there. Naughty defender driver on his phone! Also that M5 with the light bar... legal??
Cheers! To be fair the Defender was in a stationary traffic jam already in the confines of the location. The light bar 5-series seemed legit...nsa said:
I don't know if you heard Rupert: last week the Government announced - with one day's notice - a virtual ban on importing cars over twenty years old into HK. The measure came into effect 1st June. Anything brought in now must comply with Euro 6, which is obviously impossible for anything pre fuel injection. The classic car clubs have squealed about it.
Yes, mate! What a pisser that is and the reasoning is pretty wobbly to say the least. Sigh...Can stuff still be imported and driven (unofficially of course) on T-plates or on those limited use papers, or is it a total ban from being driven on public roads at all?

The white Huracan with Italian flag colored calipers is top notch! Great pictures as usual, but I still prefer the light in HK.
Hmmmmm, I think I prefer it here in UK. It's just that great light and me being out with the camera where cars are hasn't really coincided much yet.Electronicpants said:
With so many threads on PH making me involuntarily furrow my brow or wince, It's lovely to have one that just makes me smile!
Awwww, thanks! I've made a separate thread about this as I don't think people tend to be attracted to the title of this thread, but wanted to share here too. This year was my first ever trip to the FoS. Having lived abroad from the past 20+ years I have had to watch from afar, so it was great to finally do the pilgrimage. Unfortunately, I could only do Thursday but I tried to make the most of it, yomping around with my camera. Here are the photos, which you guys might enjoy...

Sorry, haven't been back to check the thread for a while. I will be going back to HK a few times a year once travel issues have returned to normal.emix said:
Great photos, as per usual! Thanks for posting.
I gather there won't be anymore HK photos from now on?
There won't be any photos taken by me personally, but my partner in crime is still there doing photos every weekend. I've been too busy to update the thread in recent months, but will try and do a bumper post soonish.I gather there won't be anymore HK photos from now on?
