There is no way I could pay £6k for a lexus is200, I have a 2000 model which I have owned since january last year as a hack for work, I paid £1500 for it, while it has been very reliable, it hardly stirs the soul. Im also averaging 26mpg which is pretty poor for a 150bhp 2.0 engine. It's completely gutless unless you keep it above 4k which doesn't help the matter. The good things about it however are everything works, the noise it makes and the fact its rwd, in the wet you can have some rear wheel fun.

I'd only have one Lexus. And it's a Toyota lol. The Aristo 300 Vertex is the only one I would have.

Re the sub frame on an M3, odd as it is all most people seem to talk about! Lol

Can you get a Vauxhall Monaro for the money? Unsilenced V8 anyone?

Can't believe the lack of love for the Cossie, surely most small time dealers are now been chauffeured around by their anorexic,Croyden face lifted ,uninsured crack we missus in e36 M3 cabriolets or noisy WRX Scoobies.
The few Sapphires to have survived abuse, ringing, rallying and rust must be about to soar in value.. I'm just trying to sort out my space issues and I'll be out there looking for a nice Flint one with cloth and will be upset if I have to part with more than £5k.

This is the major problem with them. FInding one that hasn't been cut to bits, welded back together, stolen, written off, grafted onto another one, resold as mint and finally buried in soft peat for 3 months is nigh on impossible.

And they feel dated compared to virtually everything else discussed. They're a proposition as a classic, and I know and understand the love for them, but unless you particularly hanker after one there are better cars that provide bigger thrills for less money, and are easier to find.
Not to mention good ones being well north of the OPs budget...

Is a £6k m3 going to be riddled with issues?
That must be more or less top-dollar for an E36 M3 these days, surely?

Would love to have a 3rd cossie, but the price of a good one is very high, much higher than my budget.

I would want an E46 M3, don't want an E36 M3.

Right, E46 M3 it is.

Budget is about £7k now so should be able to get one hopefully for that!
