Too many on here are still thinking like petrol heads.

I know several women who would see a Primera and think 'oh look, a car' then get in.

My vote goes for a 7 of some description.

You can say 'iconic design for 50 years', 'over steer', 'handling' until you are blue in the face.

Non-petrol head Girl will say 'where's the roof', 'its not comfortable' 'I might burn my leg on the exhaust' 'its silly'.

So there we are. Caterham 7. She won't understand, she WILL hate it.
yes

I can vouch for that. My OH never even set foot in the Caterham I used to own. Hated it with a passion.
Another vote for this. My OH hates the Westie. She went out in it the first day I got it - I wasn't used to the short rack [STEERING rack you filthy lot], and the gear change was *incredibly* stiff [:/]. Accelerating hard down the road with the car lurching around as I struggled to change gear. She was screaming for me to slow down. Went home at a sedate 40. She now refuses to go near it smile

Sh*t brown metallic Chrysler Alpine with black vinyl interior. Nuff said. Still, on the plus side I could put a pushbike in the back and cycle home pizzed without losing my licence at 18 idea.

A friend of mine met a girl at a friend's wedding and managed to get her number off her. She lived around 70 miles away from him. They chatted on the phone for a while and eventually got round to meeting up. The day before he was due to go over and meet her his car (a BMW 325 if I remember) decided to collapse completely on him.

He desperately rang round friends - this was the pre-Facebook era - to try and borrow a car for the weekend, and eventually went to meet her in my then-girlfriend's X plate Ford Ka. It was yellow.

She thought it was cute.

They've been married for around 9 years now.

I always remember meeting an ex in a club and getting on with her, and being the chivalrous chap, i offered her a lift home as she lived near me out in the sticks.

I asked if she wanted a lift while standing next to (unbeknown to me) an e39 5 series, this impressed her immensly and she immediately thought she had hooked a prize.

Imagine her surprise when we then walked a bit further to my car, a metallic blue 92 suzuki swift GTI! she was bit surprised but came home anyway. Went out with her for 9 months, but unfortunately was full to the brim with 'the mental', still is.

Had a corrado for a while that was missing passenger door trim panel, its all the girls at work would go on about when given lifts home, they theought they would die because car was showing metal inside!

Mk1 MR-2 was very popular, pop up headlights get them going apparently.

The current Miss 1138 didnt like my prelude as seats were to low, but loved the 04 A3 TDI, she is a bit indifferent about the 350z, not too low seats but she hasnt heard it going yet and it has a full Borla exhaust, hmm.

I do have a classic mini project so once that is going she will lve it, not so sure about the lotus 7 replica when its done mind, but she does love the mk1 mx5.

It looks like a lada.

God forbid anyone who trys to pull in a delta s4
I got the 'looks like a Lada' comments about my old 155, although one ex loved it when it was being hurled round Kielder Forest for some reason.

Most positive reactions came from the worst car I've ever owned - a W124-series Mercedes 220CE. It seems wafty suspension, silent engines, leather armchairs and pillarless windows all work wonders smile.

Catastrophic head gasket failure doesn't, mind.

Good call, they're low and loud and have pop up headlights, and the T-Bar is pretty neat (but doens't mess hair up).
They're also easy to drive for when she has a go, and they look pretty unique and special, so they can be legitimately referred to as a "sports car".
Plus the eagle logo means you can refer to it as a "Hansard Talon" and it'll be at least 3 months before she finds out that it's just a Toyota, and by then you'll know if she's a keeper or not.

My Mrs really liked the MR2.
That bodes well. I know several women who like being driven in my MR2. Unfortunately they all have boyfriends.

The deafening combination of Zircotec-coated F3-derived manifold and Japspeed straight-through de-catted exhaust doesn't seem to put them off either. One female friend of mine got in it, saw the pop-up lights rise, heard the engine and said 'I think this is the nicest car I've ever been in'.

As usual, alas, boyfriend :-/

without me meaning to sound like a nob, what makes it a great car? (genuinely interested to know)

punchy engine and slick gearbox, great load lugger for its size, the winter snow had near zero effect on it, does 42mpg and carries 4 people zero issues for something not that big.

Having a boyfriend or inded fiance means little, as the girl i worked with while at uni was apparently quite keen on me smashing her back doors in even though she was engaged.

Apparently all the girls i worked with (worked in a restaurant) said she shouldnt do that to me as i was a 'nice guy' and deserved better. Needless to say i didnt see any of them offering to be my GF!

bloody wimmen.

still think i should have gone at that like a wippet, ah well, the idiocy of trying to be a 'gentleman' when i was younger, i have since learned, shy bairns get nae sweeties!

And in the for win...??

First time GF of about 6 weeks flew into the UK I picked her up at LHR in my Westfield SEiW, (no doors no roof) for a long weekend trip around the Ardenne with a bunch from the Fisher/Sylva club.
Put her bag in the boot (strict instructions were given about bag size limitations) and directly off to Dover..

Car broke down on the M20, had engine out week previous and didnt reconnect alternator. banghead reconnected and with a push back on the road.
Crossed the channel Friday AM and it started raining. no door n no roof remember.. got a bit wet on route to hotel.
Next day, still raining, had been raining all night. car soaked, dripped through the rain cover.. borrowed a drill to put some drain holes in the flooe to get the 1" of water out.
Did I mention it had cloth seats, which are SOooooo nice to sit on after they have been rained on all night.. I did mention the no doors n no roof right??

repeat the above for the next 3 days.

Returning to UK only for the storm of the decade to arrive as we were trying to dock.. ( the big storm October 2000)
I had to drive back from Dover to Reading in that... fortunately another driver had trailed their car to dover, so the GF jumped in with them for a lift back..

the end of that relationship????
well no, 13 years later she's still with me so I think I lucked in there biggrin

"Lowering springs have also been added to give the car the correct ride height."

Errrr WHAT?!

Furthermore...

"The rear and side windows are made from high quality lexan polycarbonate and the rear ones have been tinted to give the car the sporty look that it deserves."

Translates to -

"I made the windows out of some spare plastic I had from repairing the shed windows, and I've painted the rears black to cover up the fact that there's no fking engine in there!"
