so not squandering his time then...
A friend had one of the 280ZXs back in the late 80s....he was always doing "stuff" to it in his parent's garage. It was a bit of a basket case but nice when it was going

straight out of Petrocelli and btw - does anyone know if Petrocelli ever actually finished building his house..?
If he hadn't spent all his spare time fooling around with naked girls on motorbikes, racing E-types and driving that Challenger across the mid-West he might have got on better .......A friend had one of the 280ZXs back in the late 80s....he was always doing "stuff" to it in his parent's garage. Brilliant jap nissan 280 zx targa i used to own one in the 80,s smooth, stylish, mine was silver over black, real flash for the cash then, and differant, auto was smooth and fast enough, bodywork was a bit how can i say,air conditioned before repaint, next model 300 was a overweight lump.like one now in the same colour!!!
Ahh, Datsun; I got a 120Y (bother) for my (then) young lads to learn to drive in, quite a few years ago now (but both passed first time funnily enough) and I hate to say it but it was abused something terrible and just kept going and going. Then one of them 'got the bug' so to speak and after he passed his test went for a 240Z. He used/abused that car so much, but again it took everything the young fellah could throw at it - he's a bit older now and is having his old 'Dato' properly restored but has opted to put - and yes this is the point - a rebuilt 280 motor in it as he, and conventional wisdom, thinks it is the pick of the bunch for road use. The Z car's were seriously overdeveloped in all the wrong areas for the US market, but the engine did keep getting better each time and was/is a bit of a gem I believe.
