Time for me to repost my 930 - far better looking that this one in the article
BTW - These wheels are Veloce GT1 wheels and that's a Ruf front spoiler

Red wheels and instruments - dreadful!!

and it's a hell of a car - tweaked engine, turbo, suspension, G50 gearbox. Pushes just over 400bhp. And yes it requires a lot of respect and skill but it's ever so rewarding smile

Wheels are so personal smile
I love these - incredibly light - think the whole set come in under 28kgs. It's all about the unsprung weight.

Not when the first line of your post states yours is 'far better looking'!!!!!

Beautiful car, but sorry, those rims are not to my taste- it would have to be original for me.

Still for me one of the best looking cars ever, and this shape along with the 964 are just pure porn for me, so much better looking than the modern stuff, which doesn't look bad, but just kind of "generic" in comparison.

I agree...lovely car but +1 on the wheels!

Fuchs are arguably the most iconic feature of a classic 911 and actually weigh less than 35Kg a set anyway.

Transmission: 4-speed manual ! Yes I remember those day's very well. IIRC the porsche 5 speeders of the time wouldn't cope with the torque. It probably adds to the laggy character of the engine as 1st was good for 55 mph or so...and the gaps between ratios were huge.
As for the shape, pure 911 porn.

If you ever saw the movie 'No Mans Land' with Charlie Sheen, they had a silver 930 with gold wheels, it looked tasty!!!

Is the guy sat next to Charlie 'Mr' Sheen a Mika Hakkinen/Seb Vettel hybrid?
You can see for yourself, the actors page is here; DB Sweeney - IMDB

I don't think £45k is that bad, they're only going to go one way in price and it isn't down!

Had to check the classifieds after that! Look at this (dealer alert eek):

£20k and looks stunning!

TX.
I'd rather cut my balls off with a blunt rusty spoon than part with any money for that! They've ruined a '67 911, the wheels are fking awful, the GT3 badge looks pony (and off centre!), the interior looks like they've raided the clearance basket at Halfords and late model bumpers look ste on an early car.

The colour's nice though. Just not on that car.

WOW love this what a proper 1980s Yuppie car. Who can resist a Porsche 911 Turbo in Guards Red, Red braces and a Filofax and I'd be straight in the 1980s. These cars are stunners and so much more interesting looking than all the modern cars. Who cars if the handling is "challenging" and prone to oversteer or is nicknamed the "widow maker". This all adds to the fun when u get it right :-)

My boss in 1989 had a dark blue one, he turned up to the office in it and everyone applauded. His boss had a Testarossa. They both had red braces and filofaxes, and permed hair.

Fair play for remembering No Mans Land, I don't know anyone else who's seen it! I had a copy on VHS and last yr managed to track down a DVD copy, so I can enjoy 80's Porsche car chase indulgence to my hearts content biggrin
It's been on sky modern greats recently ..

never had the good fortune to pilot a 930 turbo, but from the description, the experience sounds very similar to any other air-cooled 911, only with a huge jack-nailed boot up your rear when you hit 6k on the tach.

mmmmm nice!
