I bought it on DVD a few years ago,the plot is lame but the cars are great.
I quite liked the blue/grey 911 Cab he drives and also the red targa? But the 930 just looks the tits!

If you didn't want to go for the full blooded Turbo variant, there was a (very expensive) non turbo option called the SSE (Super Sport Equipment). This was basically a 3.2 Carrera with the Turbo rear wing, widened rear arches and Turbo brakes and suspension. Many liked the usability and sufficient 230 bhp of the standard engine combined with those unmistakable Turbo looks.

It was so expensive relative to a standard Carrera that very examples made it to the UK and they now command a bit of a premium due to their rarity - http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/p...

Whatever your preference the 911's of this era are superb cars that in my opinion still look incredible today.

If I'm honest I prefer the drive of a genuine M491 Supersport to the 4 speed turbos.

..great car, but only enforces my opinion that just now, the 996 turbo is the best value 911 of all! You can get one for half 930 money!

I really don't see the issue with the money. Buy one, use it every day if the fancy takes you, sell it in 10 or 20 years time for two or four times today's price. Nice spec 911s are one of the few things you can buy that are inflation linked, even though you enjoy them every day. No other investment does that!

Agreed if you don't mind driving around in a car that handles and goes like a classic, mine had a terrible drink habit as well. I think the enjoyment would be short lived as a daily hack regardless of the financial benefit.

Maybe but who knows how much they will be worth in ten years plus?
The one thing that I know is that I could not buy one now for what I paid for mine five years ago.

I love mine.........treat it with respect and learn to drive it properly (6 months) and not a lot will get near you.
Only a tw.t would jump in one of these and then complain when it bites there arse. The way they wriggle in your hands and feed whats going on through to you has never been repeated.
Its like saying guns kill......they dont the t...ts that pull the trigger kill people.
