I'm sure they were just stopping off for a quick cuppa on the way to a pre-booked MOT appointment.

Or something.

I'm assuming when they say 'unregistered' they don't mean it hasn't got a number plate fitted, but that in fact it isn't actually registered to anyone?

Bit of a pedantic bugger aren't you, Rupie?

I think you know my original statement was with regards to this story, but carry on if you wish.
Who's Rupie?

If you wish to think that the fact that a vehicle is unregistered means it is also untaxed and uninsured you carry on.
Roo, you're coming across as a bit of an anus TBH. He was making reference to the BBC article stating clearly it was unregistered, untaxed, and uninsured.

You're the one who started jumping up and down about if it was unregistered it doesn't necessarily mean no tax, trade plates blah blah.

Acting with safety in mind, seems like a good call. Hard lines to the van's owner.

What, an unregistered, uninsured and untaxed car? God no. The bloke sounds like a charlatan. Did't the last van he sold get blown up near Gatwick?

This maybe my stupidity lack of understanding, but how does a car come to be 'unregistered' I would highly doubt that this van was brand new, so how does a vehicle 'fall through the cracks' as it were? if it was sold or bought then there will be traceable owners shirely?

The Argus said:
The men, both 33, one from Enfield, Middlesex, and the other who gave no address, were arrested on suspicion of theft, fraud by false representation, handling stolen goods, causing a public nuisance and money laundering.
I think they might be regretting their antics before their little jaunt to Majorca!
