Taxing a newly purchased car

I was going to tax online, but will the seller(previous keeper) be able to claim it back if they were so inclined?

As the car is still in their name they'll get the disc so can probably do what they want with it, if so inclined.

The disc will go to as they are still the registered keeper, you need to go to post office to do it.
