These models are super cool - I must be getting old though... having raced around in 40mph go-karts as a kid with no safety precautions whatsoever, I look at the little girl in those cars and think "If that were my child I would have fitted a seat belt".
There are seatbelts fitted, for both passenger and driver, shows better on another video. Bike helmet or similar might be a good idea though.RBV8 said:

Me too! But I improved a little bit the design..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aV0IVKOHqhQ
My sister and i had something like this when we were younger. my dad was a boat builder/carpenter and made us one each, my sister had a red car version, and i had a blue truck version. they were both electric powered by a car battery i think, and could fit two kids in the front bench. mine had a bent front bumper from practising those Russ swift moments, a tow-bar and an old Bugatti style grille.
absolutely loved it...

What a lucky girl to have a dad like that :-)
The name Stuart Gurr rings a bell. I think he may have owned some modified Minis (the proper Mini, not the BMW monster) which were the fastest ones around.
I used to go to the Middlesex RS Owners meeting in the late '90s which used to take place near Heathrow along the A4. I remember a turquoise coloured clubman shape (with 4 round headlights instead of the 2) which was just a beast. It had been magazine featured and had around 190 bhp (IIRC) from a Metro Turbo lump at the time and to see this thing giving RS Turbos and Cossies some stick was real good fun. A lot of the cars would have a little 'race' around the block (the police used to be present) and this Mini had a run alongside some real potent machinery. All you could hear was the straight cut gears being changed as it would rev so quickly.
Or I could be confused, as I also remember a black Mini (chrome 7x13 superlites) with what was described as an all steel Metro Turbo engine which also had a silly amount of power for it's displacement.
The good 'ol days :-)
Sorry for going off topic but the name just brought back some fond memories for me.
