I'd have been screaming to mind the lamppost - way too close for comfort. I reckon she hit the dog - without question; probably why vehicles like that are prohibited in public places as kids don't have a quick enough reaction to avoid a static object let alone moving.

Awesome craftsmanship though- very impressive engineering.

Are there any good guides/tutorials on how to make something like this? I'd love to make a powered, scale version of a Caterham 7 for my son!

I think he as well as his daughter are ace. Firstly him for his incredible craftsman ship and second his daughter for her "You cant show the engine till I have started it" comment a true petrolhead at heart. She is going to end up racing cars as she gets older of that I have little doubt.
