Hey all
Doing a favour for my Dad, his E46 330Ci needs new discs and pads all round, offered to do the work myself to save him paying main dealer rates on a simple job as I have the tools...
Thing is, never had a BMW myself, so not sure where to get hold of the new parts at a reasonable price - I suspect he'll want original BMW parts. Just had a quick look around google and seem to be finding £150 for a front disc, £130 for a rear. Seems a bit expensive, I bought a full set of four discs and eight pads for the HMS Volvo for £200, 2nd hand but brand new...
There doesn't appear to be a BMW section to stick this in??? So I've posted it here... Anybody out there do their own BMW servicing able to give me a lead to the bits at a reasonable cost?

BMW SectionI'd go for OEM from ECP or CP4L. Something like Textar, ATE or Pagid. HTH
Thanks everybody for the replies, I feel much better informed now!!
I usually get stuff from ECP, the Textar stuff looks reasonably priced, didn't think Pagid was that well recommended but I'm by no means an expert...

BMW do a value line, ask at the parts counter.
I didn't know that - I'm not in the UK now but will ask when I'm back...Ozzie Osmond said:
No point fitting cheap rubbish to your Dad's car - he won't be pleased.
Very true, don't intend to cheap out on him (especially as he's happy to pay for the right stuff anywayg3org3y said:
Thanks, must have been late night blindness (I'm an hour ahead as well!!) If a mod wants to move this please do, I was looking in the "Other Marques" section!I usually get stuff from ECP, the Textar stuff looks reasonably priced, didn't think Pagid was that well recommended but I'm by no means an expert...

Pagid at Euro Car Parts were about 30% off the other weekend (bought them for my X-type, £75 for front discs and pads)
Yeah, they often have some good discounts on there, like I said I usually look there for stuff for the Volvomackie1 said:
Textar are the OEM for BMW. I got a full set of disks and pads from ECP for under £200 for my old Z4 which has similar spec brakes to the 330. That was with a 30% off code but they tend to do those quite often.
That's good to know, the Textar kit was very reasonably price on ECP...If you want genuine BMW parts, I've bought parts from Cotswold BMW before. Genuine parts from a main dealer with a discount. Helpful on the phone, and quick delivery.
