Has anyone got a similar story to this?

The other night I went to Subway with the GF for some late night munch...

As I pulled up I noticed a marked Volvo V70 floating around the retail park obviously looking for scrotes acting up at the adjacent Mcdonalds.

Unfortunately he had taken an eye to my white Type R, not that I can blame him, he drove passed twice giving me a good luck... nothing fishy here officer.

Anyway I drive out and start to head home, just my luck, I pull up behind the Volvo at the lights. I follow him maybe a quarter of a mile until he pulls into a fuel station.... only to pull back out when I drive passed. bks, he's going to pull me, I thought. mad

Behind me however, there is a 206, and this car is right on my arse, as though to instigate a race (perhaps he was returning from seeing the new Fast&Furious film) - of course I could see full well that the Volvo was behind watching us both, so I didn't even entertain the ned.

Up the road slightly, the road splits into 2, the inside lane for buses cycles and taxis, the outside lane for cars. You can probably guess what's about to happen.cool

The 206 roars passed undertaking me in the bus lane, with all the might of it's little engine screaming for victory...

5 seconds later followed by a flashing blue lighted Volvo biggrin

I have never been so thankful for a chav to be driving like an ahole in my life... thank you!

Anyone else been saved by a chav?

If all your bookwork was in order I don't see your worries about being pulled over.
As for the 206 driver ,well that's a pull as an older car with funny mods?

Exactly my thoughts too. Do you think police just pull over Hondas for driving normally?

It's not often you can catch a chav in their natural habitat, when you do it's best to let them hang themselves there's.no saving stupid smile

Yes...I've had similar, although not Chav related (O/T -I really think that's an overused term)

I was going a fair few leptons above the national speed limit on the M1 heading North. I spotted an unmarked Volvo too late, slammed on the anchors and moved in the natural flow of the traffic. However, the Volvo proceeded to works his way towards my car and slotted in behind me for about two miles...thought 'it's a fair cop' and prepared to be pulled over.

Then a lovely 996 Turbo blated past us at high speed...Volvo instantly put their blues and twos on and off they went.

A few miles down the road I see the 911 on the hardshoulder with the Volvo pulling up behind it.

I could have kissed the 911 driver. But I didn't.

I don't think they do... I know they do.

I've been pulled over 3 times for "random checks"

I had something sort of similar, I also was in a DC2 Integra, with some chavved up Clio right up my tail. Unfortunately for me, I didn't know there was a police car anywhere nearby, so I put my foot down to try and get rid of said chav, which I did, and then carried on at a more sensible speed.

However, the possible reason the chav didn't keep up was because THEY knew there was a police car behind, so obviously didn't try and keep up, and I was the one that got pulled and got 3 points on my licence.

So no, NOT saved by the chav, actually the exact opposite. What a tt. biggrin

Lucky!

You've got that eye for the unmarked then, must be a Pistonheads' thing..

Yes. On one sunny Sunday afternoon I met a few friends in a car park before a hoon, plod turned up (we were near a very active skate park so they patrol the area) and began inspecting our cars, they found my number plate didn't have the postcode of where it was made on it rolleyes (I had bought the car from a dealer one month prior) and they were talking about fines for incorrect number plate tags.

Luckily some stupid chav in his mums merc did a burnout at the other end of the car park as they hadn't seen plod.

Saved by the chav smile

Making progress on the M18, looked in my mirror to see plod sat on the hard shoulder up the slip road. Oops. Gently eased off and pulled aside to let the Nissan pickup that had been glued to my bumper free. Mr Policeman goes walloping past me. A short while later one Nissan pickup.

Also had an incident on the A1, where I had a feeling that the silhouette I could see of a RangeRover some distance behind looked odd. Eased off the cruise control and eventually Mr Policeman pulls alongside, toots and waves a finger. We then do 15 miles in convoy at 70 mph. He waved when he left the road.
