Just remembered the last time I saw a dark blue Megane RS!!

Two blokes with guns were in it and they demanded €90 from me just East of Lyon because I was doing 147km/h instead of 130km/h

Really like the colour. Don't like the wheels though. Should have applied some F1 magic and made it a bit lighter in some way.

Im a bit confused.... The official team is Team Lotus Renault, the black and gold car right? Redbull Racing uses a Renault engine but has little else to do with Renault, so why isn't this car black and gold? That's the equivalent of the 90s Clio Williams being named the Clio Benetton, oh yeah and that should be Raikonnen in that photo too!
There is no official Renault team Genii bought out Renault a couple of years ago. Renault is only an engine supplier has chosen to ally itself marketing wise most strongly with Red Bull since they're their most successful team. However Red Bull seem to be successfully ignoring Renault and going with Infiniti instead.

I like this car. They're bringing 120 into Australia. So far all of the special editions down under have been better value than buying a standard car and trying to option it to match the specs of the special edition and this will likely be the same. RS Monitor 2.0 is a nice plus.

For those that say silver (or 'platinum') isn't part of Red Bull's colours - it may not be on the cars, but it works it's way into quite a bit of merchandise and, after all, all this car really is is a very expensive piece of merchandise (that's somewhat practical when you want it to be).

Red Bull are not ignoring Renault. IIRC, it was a Renault decision - who own/part own Nissan and therefore own/part own Infiniti - to promote the Infiniti brand instead of Renault as this was covered by the Lotus Renault team!

So this RS Red Bull is slightly confusing.

Next month I am looking forward to the launch of the Dacia Sandero Williams F1 SE. wink

Marketing bks. Don't ya just love it?

Eww why would I want an RB logo on my car?

Does it come with a finger to wave at people too?
Wouldn't be too keen on paying £25k to advertise Red Bull myself, although it does mean that when the sign says 'no overtaking', you can ignore it and go past anyway.

Yes, apart from tyres, its exactly the same as the Megane 265.

Sorry, I forgot the price. Still TBD biggrin

Bearing in mind the last experience with the Megane 265 Trophy, once Renault have only managed to sell a few, those that want one should wait until the big discounts kick in to shift them.

Gendarme Blue is a unique colour for them and not Extreme Blue.

No. It was available on the 250, but was sadly dropped when the 265 came along last year!

All the 265 Trophy sold out, without the need for massive discounts.

The tyres on this RB8 are available as an option on the 265 in association with the Black 19" wheels. They are the same tyres that were fitted to the 265 Trophy and therefore on the record breaking 'Ring car.

Eventually sold out... and of course 'massive discounts' is open to interpretation, but certainly much more significant than 'no discounts'.

A stock Megane 265 with the massive discount still seems a better buy.

You have to wonder if it was actually worth the effort to produce only 30, especuially as its not exactly an R26.R in terms of differences from the standard car...

Is this not the equivalent to the 225 F1? A standard RS Megane in pretty colours and Ltd but exactly the same. This leaves Renault an opportunity to still build an R26 and an R26.R equivalent.

So, another limited edition 'just a paint job' special from Renault.

I wonder what muppets will pay over the odds for this one.
Ah, well that'll be me then wink ordered one yesterday. Works out a fair bit cheaper than speccing a std model up, they've put some good bits in it (IMHO) http://www.renaultsport.co.uk/roadcars/megane265/r...
