Not quite ready yet, but the general theme is the same really!

I like the idea of half and half, but the plastidip really needs an edge to cling too, it can cope in small areas but having an edge front to back probably won't go well!

I really appreciate your advice Hoofy, I'm trying to think how I could incorporate it into my 'image', but I also want to stand out...Maybe I'll just put a large matte orange banner on the site haha
hehe

Did you see the extra bit I posted about having a matt black roof and bonnet to reflect the logo?

Create your own VW 'Colour Concept' UP!

Each panel a different colour, talk to VW, you may even get some interest biggrin

I'd do it the same colour as your corporate colour, obviously. Or a colour that compliments your corporate colour and/or logo.
That was my original plan, brand Image and association is important, but I don't have a 'colour', my site is very much dark colours, which I personally like (new site will be live shortly, but general look the same) but I don't think my 'car' would suit being black/grey, it needs to be eye catching, in my opinion...
You don't have a brand colour scheme? Solution - make one. Will help a great deal in the future, makes logos easier, makes these decisions easier etc! Come up with a colour scheme!

I'd be doing black lettering (AND my logo obviously) on top of the colour I chose anyway...So matte orange with black stickers..

Much like this sort of thing, although the UP is probably a little cooler?

Ultimately, it's your car, your business and your choice. You know the market much better than I do. smile

Do a homage to the VW Polo Harlequin and do each panel a different colour, that way it also shows some of the potential options for colours that people could buy.

I like the idea, only issue is that 1) it doesn't match anything at all, and 2) I need company graphics/logo/words! On it, would be a bit of a clash with all those colours!?

You could Matte black everything and then bring out the advertising with contrasting colours? Lime Green or possibly even Chrome sign writing?

VW Up.

Speaking of which, since you can't make up your mind. How about a colour scheme inspired by VW itself:

Got to be this. Every panel different to showcase the finishes you offer!

Why not split the car down the middle with one side highly polished, and get the other side wrapped with a clear matte vinyl? It's forced admittedly - but demonstrates how detailing brings the paint back to life? Even bang a zip on it so its like superman- inner shininess (not sure that's a word) getting out!

That is a great idea actually smile

On that note I vote one side "Vauxhall Pink" palstidip and the other half highly polished VW Gloss (I assume) red smile

How about plastic dipping the bonnet, roof and boot in black?

So. Decision made, and done!

Firstly, washed down, IPA'd,  masked off anything we obviously didn't want dipping. It doesn't actually require ANY masking at all, but it's a plain waste to do windows!

All dipped!

And finished

Awful photos, courtesy of iPhone, but it is matte orange. I'll be doing a few more layers ASAP to bring the colour out more, then all my stickers go on!

Plastidip will absolutely kill the wrapping scene. Mark my words!

Looks like you've just done it the same colour on my screen, like you say that's probably down to the pics.

How easy/hard was it? I'm guessing you found it quite easy with your comment about the wrapping scene?

Given my total cack handedness I might use the OH's bike to practice on first, I'm sure she likes pink wink

Well, it is orange, but laid over red it doesn't show quite as much as it should - I ran out of dip stupidly, miss calculation!

It's definitely easier than wrapping, but I do have paint experience, and it's certainly not something I'd just have a bash at if I'm honest, without a lot of research anyway...

We have been experimenting and researching for about 3 months now, and my new website is about to go live with 'a new service' that I offer wink
