Liking this, if only for the novelty of twin wipers on the rear window

I bought a second hand Camry some years back. Lovely big barge of a thing. Luxury motoring at a disposable price. I paid considerably less than that though.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1992-Toyota-Camry-3-0-GX...

A self nomination here, possibly the most boring car ever made but it's silly cheap to run and actually quite fun to trundle around in:
13" Alloys on that beast! I miss those days .
Had a 1.6 slx for a while (14" alloys on that! lol) Was great fun to throw around, loads of roll but surprisingly nimble. 13" Alloys on that beast! I miss those days .

OK, so now I am into bargain territory, took a deposit on my 944 S today, so will be in a position to go shed shopping at the weekend.
I'm after an estate or large hatch - shortlist as before:
MG ZTT 190
Saab 9-5 Aero
P1/P2 V70 T5
ST220
Now I know a bit about the first three, although with the V70, I have had a couple of 850's and here would push towards a cheap P2, but am I asking for trouble? I know to avoid the geartronic - but other than that, are they reasonably reliable?
The ST220 though, have seen a few of these advertised around £1000/1500 now, again, is a cheap ST220 likely to be troublesome, or are they fairly solid/reliable? Anything in particular to look out for?

I know of a very solid MG ZT+ 1.8T for sale, I know its good as I basically restored it to good health before selling it in the Spring. Current seller has itchy feet and wants back into a 9-5. Its £850 I think.I'm after an estate or large hatch - shortlist as before:

This guy's also got a Merc 240 for sale, but this really caught my eye. God knows when it'll expire, but anything nearer £500 makes it a good deal.

Not the best bodywork, but £300 for a barge this big with 12 months ticket is a steal.

I can't help but think the prestige that the vendor was hoping to add by parking on his lawn has been a bit diminished by him letting the grass grow to knee height! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1995-Lexus-LS400-/251675...

Very good, its actually got the (rare) better of the two Dolby systems.... note the small tweeters in the lower speaker panels pointing back in to the car.... not many have that, as it was an 'option on an option' if that makes sense.
2.0T is a solid engine, do let us know how long the gearbox lasts though
Interesting regarding the speakers, I wasn't aware of that - cheers! Are the manual's known for being problematic? It could probably use a fluid change at some point, as it's sometimes a little stiff selecting gears when it's cold - touch wood it doesn't eat itself on the drive home now! 2.0T is a solid engine, do let us know how long the gearbox lasts though

I'd be very interested to see how you get on with this 2.0T. I pondered one for a few days but went for a Saab instead. Keep us posted.
