Are you allowed to post links to your own cars if they're silly?

I thought I would show you all what I had to contend with yesterday when cleaning my £150 Mini up!
So first of all the people I bought it from live on a farm and have at least 10 dogs! One of the dogs used to come out on driving lessons and then when the car was retired from the driving school it got used to take the smaller dogs out and about!
This is what the back seats looked like:
The carpets were also thick with hair, along with at least half a fields worth of mud and grass!
I finished the seats and moved onto the boot. Now living on a farm, there tends to be mice and rats around. One of the rats decided that the boot carpet would look much better in his house, so chewed it to st so he could steal some of it!
It took me the majority of the day but I had finally finished cleaning it inside and out by around 8pm last night!
Oh and I thought I better share the roof decal before I peel what's left of it off:

My bargain basement car purchase has finally given up the ghost, which is no big deal as I wanted to get rid of it anyway but it was far to tatty to sell on realistically. It was a 405 TD estate, bought after inspiration from this thread. I bought it 4 and a half years ago for £300, I changed the clutch on it as I had a spare one lying around, but other then that it has just been usual maintenance such as bushes and bulbs for the MOT's each year. Last year it was hit whilst parked, luckily the other party left a note and their insurance wrote the 405 off giving me £550 and letting me keep the car, so it didn't owe me anything! In the end, at 205k miles (40k I put on) it was the turbo that died. The cost of replacing it is not worth me doing, especially as I wanted rid anyway as I have too many cars and don't use it as much anymore. So the plan is to scrap it, unless anyone on here is interested in having it for scrap value and fixing it up.
p.s. I actually found a replacement 405d estate (with long mot) for £150, but on the way to buy it, my mate who was coming with me decided he wanted it instead. Suited me fine as I want to cut down my car numbers anyway! So he will be cheap motoring for now!
TL,DR:
Bought 405 in 2010 for £300, usual maintenance, in 2014 it was written off and £550 paid out plus I kept the car, 2015 turbo dies and I will be scrapping it for hopefully £100+.
All in all, cheap motoring!

Is that a typo or did you really only pay £150 for it.So first of all the people I bought it from live on a farm and have at least 10 dogs! Even if the owner had smeared their own ste over the drivers seat it's worth that.
Anything with a V8 around?
I'm seriously looking at LS400's after having a sit in a friends the other day (not for sale sadly)
This sort of thing. Although the number plate doesn't tie in with mature owner.

Never understood what must go through someone's mind to think a numberplate like that is a good idea.I'm seriously looking at LS400's after having a sit in a friends the other day (not for sale sadly)

That could be a good little project/do'er up'er and as advert says a good track day toy. My neighbour bought a Clio 172 the other day for £800 as a trackday project and despite a few cosmetics it has proved to be a good buy, he's using it for his daily commute atm.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
