306 GTi-6 Phase 2 with 8 hours to go on eBay. Might just go within budget. Might not.

I'd buy it myself if a recent write-off incident hadn't pushed my insurance sky high (it also means I can't cancel my current policy, I've to pay it off in full to July).

Looks very smart, though.

£840!! What a steal.

You're right about the seats being comfy - I remember the ones from the DTurbo being amazingly comfortable and supportive.
Very comfy sports seats in the 106 as well, I wonder if it was the same team?

Who's for a £950 306 Rallye?

Because there's one for sale.

It has some icky yellow bits in the interior and it's missing a radio. It could also do with a wash. And it's been Cat C/D. However... recent MOT history looks OK. And it has a sweet private plate.

Worth me going for a spin in it...?

The colour, I think, is Diablo Red. Too much of that appears to be Diablo Pink.
Nah Diablo Red wasn't on the Rallye and Diablo red was a metallic
This would seem to be Cherry Red then

Me too.
Next month hopefully. 1998 Corolla 1.6 SR. A dent on the wing and one on the rear bumper where I dropped the bike getting it out of the boot.

No idea how much it's worth. I'm 2nd owner and have owned it since 2010 and it's just on 58k miles. ]
Car is going up for sale. Hopefully new car is coming in 9 days or so.

How much do I sell it for ?

Just on 59k now, I had the anti roll bar drop links done a while ago and the MOT is due mid June.

Out of interest, anyone in the South East selling something Focus/Astra sized with working air con? Mine is due for an MOT on Friday which I fully expect it to fail spectacularly

Not many of these left due to people not knowing how to maintain rotary engines properly.

So most of them have gone to the great scrappers in the sky.

Seriously? In my head, those are still fairly new cars!

Ditto. Wonder if it would be expensive to put a normal engine in it?

Hrm. A quick google suggests it would cost about £5k to put a different type of engine in it!

Further to my last post, the Civic only failed its MOT on a numberplate bulb. So in 5 or so months I've it's cost me fuel and a pair of front wiper blades because the garage didn't even bother charging for that, and the only thing that broke is the remote central locking. Not bad at all.

Good result.

My 20 yr-old £250 V70 went through its last two MoTs with very little drama, but this time it has failed on a seatbelt (frayed) and headlights (dull reflectors).

I came close to scrapping it, but really it's too good for that.
I'm getting it repaired - it will still owe me much less than £1k.

Only downside now is that the air con doesn't work. Could be something simple but I doubt it, and no way of bodging it on the cheap

There's an RX8 sat on a driveway near me that's not moved in 2 years. Sorely tempted to knock on the door and enquire about it.
Bought myself a bargain shed today for the grand sum of £234. 2 owners, 66k, and it used to be an unmarked police car in The Bill (still has lights in the grill). No advisories on the MOT last year, but it expires in June. Couple of issues with electric windows and missing slightly under load, so a little bit of tinkering to do. Only need it for a month or so, but rather enjoyed getting into shed buying again.

Yes, but when its 25 degrees and I'm crawling through traffic on the way to work, they may as well not
