£495. Vauxhall Omega 3.2 Elite. MOT until November 2017. 112k miles. Seems pretty fair to me.

Hi, need my car sold by Tuesday. Had a couple of nibbles on Facebook but nothing concrete.

Any ideas where I can get rid ?
WBAC will give £110 but it's worth more and thus it's up for £495
Did it sell? What is it? smile
Toyota Corolla 1998
Yeah had a few offers but a guy said £400 if he can collect asap so I agreed.

What are these old V6 A6's like?

This one is high mileage and it's an N reg. However, it's local to me and I'm sure they could be up for a haggle?

As that one's not blighted by the multitronic grenade gearbox, should be fine, with all the usual caveats - it's a big heavy car, so performance is OK rather than good, suspension may need work from time to time. But they are built to a great standard - mine simply shrugged off being used as a builders van through our house refurb and instantly became a high quality nice car/barge again by putting the seats back up (and maybe running the vacuum over the carpets). That one looks much the same, from the pics - maybe replace the gear lever gaiter, then play guess the age/mileage.

A friend had one that age and had no issues with it in the time that he owned it. I'd be reassured with that car in that the owner appears to have a rather nice old Porsche hidden away in the background, a sign that he's a car enthusiast and hopefully takes maintenance etc seriously.

a manual would be interesting but 23mpg and 8 seconds to 60, just doesn't do it for me, even though it has the magical rwd.

You're right, and that's why they're so cheap. If it was manual I'd have been on the phone within five seconds of seeing the ad

Sorry for all the Omegas, but someone must want a nice condition, mega high spec 2.5 diesel (the BMW engine, don'tcha know) Omega estate with more than a year of MOT for £350?

What astonishes me about the Omega is how cheap and nasty the facelift interior looks.

Really? I've never thought so. I haven't been in one for years and years but I remember them as quite nice.

Pre and post facelift are very different.

Pre facelift looks a lot more plush - pleated leather on the door cards, for example - whilst post facelift had huge expanses of moulded plastic, similar to the Vectra.

Not the best comparison photos, but best I could find.

I know what they look like, but thanks. Being inside them I never noticed them to be particularly bad though.

Reading through that post - it does really seem like a massive bargain of a car, especially with all the spares being offered with it. Is it bad that I now want my bora to bang or get nicked just so I can get this?

I had exactly the same thought about my perfectly healthy Astra!

153k miles
Mot Apr 2018 and well within thread budget

Even has 4 matching Avon on it.

And I love the electrically adjustable seatbelt height.

I may have also done a good thing, rather surprised when my extremely low, blind bid won! But I needed a estate and £683 for a top spec accord cant be bad. Looks like Hankooks all round too, winner.
