My guess is at that mileage (160k) that engine is suffering from a stretched timing chain which causes the EML to illuminate.

Easily cleared with a code reader, but will return within a few miles.

This seems to affect the 170bhp more than the 150bhp of the 2.3 V5.

It's a fairly decent looking car for peanuts which is possibly why all the Dominos delivery drivers around my neck of woods buy cheap diesel Passats. I drove past my local branch recently and there was about 7 parked up outside. It's like the go-to motor for them.

That's a great car. Tolerably quick, lovely and comfortable, cheap as chips to run, will go on until it eventually rusts away. Brilliant.

Agreed, great cars, buy my old 51 plate failed its MOT for rust reasons at 60k ish miles. It looked mint cosmetically, but they rust on the bulkhead and also near the subframe mounts on the floorpan. Such a shame.

In West Yorkshire Micras and Yaris's are still the takeaway delivery car of choice but our regular work kebab Thursday is often delivered in an Evoque.

I had a facelift C5 as a DD for almost 3 years. So, so comfortable and never missed a beat. Loved long trips.

(Mine was a petrol, auto)

Tidy MOT history too... someone will no doubt buy it and run it into the ground - which would be a shame.

I like it a lot but have been actively looking for a comfy estate. Were the d Turbo and d Turbo S different models or one and the same?

Probably as dull as cars can get, but I reckon as a family bus you couldn't go far wrong with this.
