I think the issue is that some penny pinchers expect a near new car (condition wise) for the dosh..? Hardly realistic.

Well unfortunately, someone has decided to 'key' my car all the way down both sides... So I think that's going to have a horrible effect on trying to sell it.

I have absolutely no idea why somebody would do this... Parked on my road (not outside someone's house), where it's usually parked... Will be going round neighbours tonight to see if anyone saw anything.

ARGH!!

People really are fking retards

Get it washed, then get some black T cut and a buffing pad on the end of a drill. It'll sort that out well enough you'll get your money back and more. And better you do it & get the benefit than someone else.

This, or maybe try one of those magic pens - you are not after an immaculate finish!

(And try polish the headlights while you are at it!)

Haha thanks - I’m on the other end, trying to sell!

Had no luck on eBay at £695ono... dropped to £545 but still getting low ball offers

Update: Quick bit of t-cut worked well (well, it made the scratches look black!).

I accepted an offer on eBay and a lucky person got to drive away with it on Saturday for £440!

Lower than I originally wanted, but not too bad considering!

Surely some of the issues can be fixed cheaply, I'm seeing a lot of these shape accords going for silly money lately

Complete with budget "Evergreen" tyres.

Yes, that car has been maintained with no expense spared, so it's worth every penny!!

Let’s be blunt though, I’d bet it’s never been at more than 40mph and more often than not between 20-28mph in the dry, probably rarely seen rain and never seen ice or snow ... so the brand really doesn’t matter in this sense as it stands

Will anyone actually ever buy that? I know it's got low miles but I'd rather spend that amount on something more interesting with a higher mileage.

Seems a common theme if you look around, traders flogging cooking Rover/MG models at crazy prices because they've only gone to the corner shop and back once a week. Someone must be buying them somewhere, when one does sell I bet the dealer are absolutely bent over backwards with laughter as it was probably traded in/bought at auction for buttons.

Yep, this one looks like a cracker at a third the price:

Looks like quite a few dings down each side to me (although may just be the potato quality pics)

I live two hours away from home during the week. Last Thursday I saw a 48k mile e46 330i sport for sale on Facebook for a grand! I messaged the old lady selling it who gave me her husbands number. I called him that luck time and he said someone was going to view it at 14:00 and he would call me first if it didn't sell.

He sent me a message to say it had gone and I'm expecting it to reappear for sale at £2500 plus.

How does a 1 previous owner Toyota Celica, full history (independent garages), 72k miles, 2004 model, few dings in the doors and alloys look horrific but otherwise very tidy, for a grand...? Its my managers wife's car and I have to say I'm tempted.

You can sell just about anything with a years mot for close to a grand on Facebook or Gumtree, sold a 2003 1.4 civic with 2 dinged doors, rust on the roof and tatty interior for £900 as it had a fresh mot. People looking on these sites either want a bargain or are in a rush for a new/replacement car it seems.
