Leggy GS 300. Recently reduced price and doesn't seem to be selling on Ebay (original ad expired last week). MOT history ok(ish). Worth a look?

I wish I had posted this on Friday now. smile

Keeping an eye on it. Ad will expire this week, but can't go to see it until weekend.

If that isn't leggy, I'll take a look. smile

S model so cloth seats, not that that would bother me at that price , will drive the same as a leather seated one.

That's not cheap.

I've seen a few around that price with leather and LPG - try Gumtree

Stumbled across this - if it was manual I'd have it

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

"FITTED WITH LOTS OF ABBOTT RACING BITS, INC. ADJUSTABLE SUSPENSION, EXHAUST SYSTEM, AND BULK HEAD CLAMPS"

"MAKE A GREAT PROJECT CAR OR JUST USE AS IS"

Project bit needs clarifying.

Rather unassumingly handsome with the potential for a lot more boost.

Lovely. Perfect winter hack, and motorway cruiser with those seats. What hp are these?

Did we up the budget to £1500? If so I'd like to propose this filthy and battered Fiat 500.

If we didn't up the budget and I dreamed that bit then I do apologise.

Top end of bargain budget but then I'd say its top end of bargain car

1 owner from new and pretty much immaculate bar a bit of bolster wear.

Love it.

I spotted a V8 version for about £800 the other day. Can't imagine what state it's in though.

Those early ones really are ste. 5 speed Ford automatic box isn't known for it's longevity (particularly with the V8), it wears front suspension parts for fun, the interior is ghastly, the steering gear on early versions was Ford and changed out for a ZF rack at one of the many, many rolling changes that made it a less hopeless car.

Really even for shed money I'd avoid unless you can stretch to the 2002 onwards models, identifiable by the less awful dashboard, and they are still automotive herpes so very cheap. The 2004 facelift produced a well sorted car and resolved some of the draw droppingly awful detailing, but command an irritating premium over the earlier cars.

Well fortunately it's a manual V6, so less prone to the faults you mentioned.

Even if it's not great, it's a usable comfortable shed for sub-bag budget that you can then chop into a kit car later on.

Interesting. I guess you get the gearbox flare from the auto box? I've experienced that on a handful of cars and it can still be a usable car if you are patient and wait for it to select the gear.
