I drive a 2009 fiat bravo 2.0 tdi 165.
The car makes a noise like a bov (will use bov as my term because I'm not too clued up on what makes it) - doesn't sound too bad actually biggrin

When the engine is between cold to warm I notice this issue; rarely I'll feel it in first but mainly in 2nd gear.

Basically when giving it about 1/3 throttle under load - anything from a slight incline to hill - at around 1800rpm the 'bov' goes off making the pssst noise and there's a slight blip in power before returning again.

Any idea what's causing it and is it a fault? I'm still in my 30 day warranty for another 2 weeks if there is a fault smile

Cheers

Does it make more power after it dumps? Could be a 'simple' misfire at a certain RPM, a boost leak (wouldn't imagine it's continue to build a higher boost pressure after dipping though. See if the garage can pop a diagnostics kit on and see if its throwing up any error codes.

And I'd imagine your car would have a re-circ as apposed to an atmospheric 'dump valve', iirc this is commonplace for standard turbo cars.

Well under full throttle I don't notice it but then again I don't welly it until it's warm anyway. As for more power it's exactly the same, it dips for say 1/10th of a second and power is back

Sorry just seen this. They said the air box was lose so they undid it and put it back together.
I didn't ask but I presume it can't be the air filter box? Something to do with the turbo maybe?
Anyway so far so good

Possibly the wastegate opening too soon? I know on some VAGs it can get sooted up and stick open = no boost!

As above, I would've thought the engine would throw a code

No codes. The mechanics said what I said above. They replicated it but again no codes confused

weak wastegate spring? Not sure if the ECU would flag it, it would probably just see less air going into the engine and pull the fuelling back accordingly?

I'd go with a boost leak in the intake pipe work.
