I'm off to Spa on Tuesday night.. And before I start hunting for my MOT certificate, is it still a requirement to be carried in the car?

I've checked the AA site and there is no mention of it as far as I can see, but I am sure it was a few years ago..

They don't care about anything except licence, insurance and registration.

I always find it best, with our euro cousins policia, to overwhelm them with as much paperwork as possible. If you've got more than required I suspect they look upon you more favourably than a chav with a chewed up copy of his driving license and little else.

Photo copies, colour if necessary, are the way to go.

Do you even get a certificate any more? Last time after driving from Greece to the UK just to get my MOT done they only gave me a printed receipt.

From experience as long as you have your V5, Insurance certificate and Driving licence they don't look at anything else.

Make sure you have breakdown cover too.

This is my point.. You only get a printed A4 piece of paper with some details of the test.. Is this what we need to take with us? Its not actually a certificate..
