Asians and Bentleys
Discussion

I ordered a Bamboo earlier for £40 from Amazon to have a dabble but then saw the cintiq12 for £450 and was tempted to buy it right then and there, the reviews aren't too favourable though.
I mostly want it for pen tool related stuff in Photoshop because using the mouse can be painful at times.
Cintiqs look great but I don't rate them as high as the Intuos.I mostly want it for pen tool related stuff in Photoshop because using the mouse can be painful at times.
What you have ordered will be a great platform for starters. So much more flexibility than the mouse and also the sensitivity settings for brush pressure are great.
You won't regret your purchase.

Just Asians or I wouldn't have said! This thread would be "Why do people want to rip off the Bentley logo?" instead.
Yes you're right - my apologies.Of course Asian is not an all encompassing term - in fact your sample size of 3-10 customers is hugely representative of the Asain population.
I don't know why I thought you were generalising - in fact of the 123m Japanese, 1.3bn Chinese and 1bn odd Indians, plus other countless countries with "asians" - your 3-10 customers should allow you to draw firm conclusions.
PS Watch out, you left your brush on the floor...
I actually remembered a thread/post you made Steve that i heartily agreed with having witnessed similar occurrences, so a little searching and:
in a thread he started about the ridiculous nature of political correctness steve singh said:
So not sure what the term is then - seriously confusing.
Wish everyone would just lighten up (in the emotional and not colour sense - I'm no relation to Jacko).
So hard to describe someone - my friend at work was trying to describe one of his best friends to another colleague who was looking for him in the office...out of the sea of white faces he was the only ethnic.
Rather than just say, it's the indian/asian guy over there - he had the convulted stripped shirt, tall guy, specs, sits 3 banks in, opposite that blonde lady - I couldn't help but chuckle!!!
So it's ok to use the term Asian in when describing a friend, but not when describing a situation noticed from a couple of customers?Wish everyone would just lighten up (in the emotional and not colour sense - I'm no relation to Jacko).

I stand by all my posts - but if something is implied in a derogatory manner I think someone should take the effort to offer a slightly more less generic view.in a thread he started about the ridiculous nature of political correctness steve singh said:

Don't you think?
For example, wouldn't it be ridiculous to say the white people lost world war 2?
If you want to stereotype at least do it properly !!!!!!!!!!!!
PS I'm honoured you went through my posting history - next you'll be phone tapping

Well obviously that would be ridiculous, the Japanese are hardly described as white. I do understand what you were saying however i think there are far more offensive things said on this thread than the OP, which you didn't pick on. I also remember you'd previously said how daft you believe the PC nonsense that makes many people avoid using an obvious difference in appearance as a means of describing someone.
ETA, no phone tapping, my internet couldn't take it and the streaming tennis coverage today.

In fact - call me silly, but I was hoping that the moderators would have their attention automatically drawn to this thread by virtue of the title, the fact it's in GG and known history on the forum of how such threads go - and hence would police it as they should.
I don't buy this "report it" stuff to bring their attention to something so blatently obvious.
In terms of pinpointing the OP - nothing scientific I'm afraid. Saw a thread title, flicked towards the back end and saw another post from the OP and then I simply responded in my usual manner.
PS In some Japanese and German schools they are taught they never lost - it's an assumption you made that I was refer to the allies
The OP may well have been stereotyping, but don't forget that most stereotypes have more than a little basis in fact.
I suspect that most people who interact in any meaningful way with the indian/Pakistani/bangladeshi etc community (so as to not call them asians ) will observe that a noticeable proportion have a predeliction towards flashy things - there are a million possible socio-economic and cultural reasons for this, but let's not get into that right now! To deny it is to be completely blinkered. Therefore, to mention it is not racist, it is just making a comment based on a demonstrable observation.
To start picking holes in someone's use of the term asian is just cheap points scoring imo, if i was described as a brit online, i wouldn't put on my 'hurt and offended' hat and point out that i was an englishman as opposed to a scot, welsh or irish. to do so would be idiotic. i would accept that "we all look the same" and get on with the point actually being made as opposed to discussion stopping semantics.
In short, wind your neck in and grow up...
