Well this hasn't gone as I thought! Then again it is PH.....
Genuinely, you'll never know until you try it yourself. Some people will be happy, it's a culmination of a lifelong wish for them, they'll buy a good example, drive it, enjoy it, won't have unrealistic expectations of something that is 15/20/25 years old.

Others will buy a bad example maybe, tire of its foibles and quirks, miss their modern accoutrements such as aircon, Bluetooth, satnav, become disenchanted with the search and wait for inevitable spare parts that may be out of stock, not enjoy the mechanical repairs of the experience and be at the mercy of unscrupulous garages for any small jobs. Or they'll get a good one even, still not enjoy it, as indeed they wouldn't have enjoyed even if it had been new as it wasn't really the car for them.

As to which category you might fall into, it is hard for another to say. For every old car thread on here, you will find the owners who love them, the non-owners who would love to try one, the non-owners who can't see what the fuss is about, the ex-owners who tried one and couldn't see what the fuss was about.

I've owned a few old cars, some were 15/20 years out of production when I bought them but I can honestly say I don't really regret any of them. Some were better than hoped, some not as good in some ways.........
