RE: Skoda Octavia vRS prices announced
Discussion
Almost certainly will be discounted by 20% with one of their VAT offers.
I currently have a 2 year old Fabia 1.2 turbo since new and ownership has been brilliant. If you look under the bonnet everything shows VW and Audi badges. Would have loved an Audi A1 but the same spec was £7k more when new.
I will be looking at reviews of the estate with interest once I have paid my car off next year.

Why would someone in the market for a hatch be daft for not wanting a car that is a fair bit bigger? (despite the shared platform).
This.Plus, Audi's and VW's are generally cheaper to lease for company car drivers because of the better residuals. That's the case with my list anyway.
It looks good and the latest GTI engine is a cracker, had a look at an estate last week and they are big particularly the boot.
I priced up a 320D estate with auto, leather, etc and it came out at nearly 38 K. For a private motorist using their own money that price makes no sense. However a petrol VRS with DSG with standard kit for approx 25 K sounds reasonable. If I wait 6 months and order one towards the end of a lean sales month like December I bet the deal will be way sweeter than 25K.
It's all about the cost to change of course, but this could tempt me back towards petrol as my annual mileage is now below 15K.

You know what I'm getting at. Quality, performance, handling, style. Am I talking about Audi, VW or Skoda?Fortunately for us we can get them in different blends and formats across those 3 brands now. The gap seems smaller at the top of the ranges than the bottom (i.e. a low spec Skoda is a much less pleasant place to be than a low spec VW of similar size).

None of them! :P:P:PI like it, looks great and if it's an improvement over the last generation then it'll be a cracker as that was a good all rounder. I bet the coppers will be rubbing their hands, they love 'em round here.

Here's the interior.
Bloody fantastic. Anyone who buys a Golf or A3 is a total fruitcake. Skoda nails it AGAIN.
It looks better in the photos than it is in reality.Bloody fantastic. Anyone who buys a Golf or A3 is a total fruitcake. Skoda nails it AGAIN.
I had an Elegance spec. on hire whilst waiting for my 120 - which replaced a Mk6 Golf.
Let's just say you can feel the cost cutting in the Octavia.
Nothing particularly wrong with it - and it's better than the Focus - but it's light years behind the A3.

Great looking car. The estate looks very Audi like side on.
No it doesn't, to look like an Audi it would need an 'orrible, ill-proportioned, lardy front overhang Edited by NGK210 on Wednesday 10th July 22:34
