Arghh, what is about the 3-/4-series's 'face'? I can't put my finger on it, but it looks like a peeved, droopy-faced predator-type fish - maybe it's the headlamps, which have that 'dead' look that's similar to a shark's eyes?
Where did you get the pic of the new 2 Series?mrclav said:

you are losing your customer base.
How sure are you about that fella?http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2013/jul/08/bmw...
and for the last few years their sales have been increasing each year

sounds like they are GAINING customer base than losing it. rtz62 - where did you get your figures from to come to that conclusion?
You misunderstand, E38Ross.
On PH, "BMW / Mercedes / Porsche / insert name here are losing their customer base" translates directly to "I don't like it".
To be fair, I've done exactly the same thing on a number of occasions.
e.g. when complaining on the themes of:
- Why are all Jags automatic and ten feet wide?
- Why is every new car twice the size of the one it replaces?
- Why can't we have sensible sized wheels again?
- Why are all new Porsches ugly?
- Call that a 5-series? Bring back the E39
... and so on.
So I can understand RTZ62's sentiment even if the actual sales numbers seem to prove me wrong pretty much every time I feel this way.

They sell damned nearly as many SUVs as four-door saloons these days.
Painfully few Z4s, you can see why they didn't bother with an 'M'.
they sold more X5M and X6M cars than they did the old Z4M, as crazy as that sounds. i personally find it a crying shame but at the end of the day they're a business. If i were a major shareholder.....then i'd want them to make whatever made the most money.....Painfully few Z4s, you can see why they didn't bother with an 'M'.

The more i see BMWs latest models, the more I find myself looking at other makes catalogues.
Sack your designers and market analysts BMW, you are losing your customer base.
Well as they have just announced record sales I guess losing their existing customer base isn't such a bad thing. Their new customer base is buying even more of their cars. Sack your designers and market analysts BMW, you are losing your customer base.

Here is another one. Whenever a car manufacturer announces their car is going to be flappy paddles only members here announce how foolish this is and that they aren't going to sell any if they don't offer a manual option. The stats below are for M3 DCT v manual gearbox sales figures. If you were the manufacturer would you be worried about sales collapsing by dropping the manual version? On PH, "BMW / Mercedes / Porsche / insert name here are losing their customer base" translates directly to "I don't like it".

Does anyone ever say they wont sell because they're automatic? There's a big difference between lamenting the death of the manual and believing that it's a bad business decision to ditch it.
Yes I have seen threads on here that the manufacturer won't sell any of XYZ model as they are ditching manual gearboxes. Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
