So who is clever enough to earn the massive amount of money required for one of these, but then stupid enough to spend that money on one of these?
Well, you do still have an inbred, hereditary noble class over there who don't need to have demonstrated the least cleverness to have inherited enough money for this thing. Seems like the perfect target audiences. Well I am obviously in the minority but I think its a great looking thing ; not in the same way as a 365 Ferrari or an Aston V8, but when I saw the prototype at Goodwood last year the quality and the perfect blend of style, elegance and dare I say it "Majesty" blew me away. Its more like a very expensive yacht - thats the kind of purchase it will be....one about status, infrequent use and more about complimenting the extensive list of cars that the owner already has than being a proper "main use" car.
Also I believe it makes perfect sense for Bently as a brand to expand the model range in this way and to move to a product line that adds to possible sales and does not cannibalise them from other cars in its own range (take note Aston Martin?)

The Porsche Panamera is a far better looking car than the Aston equivalent
Are you okay? This new Bentley can only be a good thing for folk like me who very much like the Range Rover: N-Dubz and his mates will now buy this instead.
Its a putrid thing, but if it distracts the chinless wonders form wealthyshire, psuedo gangstas, footballers and tastless pop star types lookin for 'da street cred innitt' into moving away from the very imnpressive latest gen RR then it gets my vote.
Looks like it's aimed at the Chinese market. It looks like a cheap copy of itself like all the other Chinese cars are copies. I can't explain it any better but you can spot these designs a mile off (eg: Jag XF and new XJ). Formula is take an existing Western icon and try to make a car that looks a bit like it from existing cheapo cars (ie: Jag XF and new XJ look like Mondeo's with tatty bling on top).
Still good for jobs here and it will be a pleasure to sell some crap back to the Chinese instead of us taking all their rubbish for a change.

I suppose given that good taste has largely disappeared in the modern world and hasn't ever existed the Chinese market, I can understand why VW are forcing Bentley to do this, but I can't honestly imagine anyone at Bentley is remotely keen on having to tarnish Bentley's heritage with such a monsterous creation
Ok, I haven't posted here in a VERY long time, but damn if I didn't have to find my log in details and post how god awful that monstrosity of a design looks. I mean, seriously?! They have all that money and prestige, and they totally make a car look like vomit doodle!
I'm not a massive fan of the way the new Ranger Rover Sport looks, but even i'd bloody well take one of those over this anywhere, even if it does have a more 'presitge' badge
