Sadly, the world market adores these things. It can only be a matter of time before anyone building cars has one in their showroom. Look at Harry Metcalf's column in EVO for the numbers (This month or last, I forget)
Imagine if Pagani built one - bigger, more powerful and blingy-er than anything else. Maserati, Alfa, they'll all make their versions, some day. Caterham could reinvent the Mini Moke. And Lotus looking to save their business with a new Elise? I don't think so - best look at the Evoque and figure out how to make that market their own.
We're sportscar fans living in an SUV world.
Why is it sad? Hardly a lack of sports cars around....Imagine if Pagani built one - bigger, more powerful and blingy-er than anything else. Maserati, Alfa, they'll all make their versions, some day. A new standard in ugly SUVs has been set.
ETA: I like the way the photo shows that it is driving off road, even though there is a road right next to the dirt track it is driving on. Nicely illustrates its off road credentials.
It's no wonder that the car is on the dirt track as the adjacent paved section of road is only about half the width of the car - maybe that's why there's a market for another huge new SUV, with roads like this.ETA: I like the way the photo shows that it is driving off road, even though there is a road right next to the dirt track it is driving on. Mind you, the picture also seems to show quite a useful white line at the edge of the "dirt track", to warn the driver not to wander too far off off-road ......hmmmm.....
The only good thing about this thing is the upset it is causing Guardian readers.
