I saw one of these in the UK last week, exactly the same spec. Looked (and sounded) nice

Mincing a porsche off the lights on the way to the tip is the only way to do it. fast estates win on all fronts.

i didn't realise that the XF's i see with an 's' on the back were Derv. Thought they had the supercharged petrol in it allready.

can't beleive they didn't

get this built now!!
Not entirely true, the old XF's had a silver S by themselves, or SV8 and some of them had the older supercharged V8.
i see, and now i look, (not estate i know), they are a bargain too. 155mph 5.1 & 13k

Hell yes yes

I could quite happily fill my garage with cars from the Jaguar range right now and not feel the need for anything else!

Awesome. Build it please. Estates are the future.

The luxury estate segment has long been overlooked and too many of the target audience buy SUV's, cars like this can change that. I.e non Germanic and contain a little soul. It's a domino effect, introduce at the same time as 2.0d and they will encourage each other.

A friend has the current XF-R, I really enjoyed it except for the "e diff", build quality was great, ride was quite amazing, it was super quite (road and wind noise) exhaust was too quiet but it was quick enough!

It was also cheap to buy at £31k for 11k miles!

Whenever the owner and I talk about his car we both comment on how great it would be if they made an estate version.
Lol what do you drive if you think the XF-R has a quiet exhaust?

I have but I only live down the road from Gaydon, saw 3 zagatos in a row the other week.

Did surprise me when they went on the record saying they were only building derv estates, then i saw (and heard) a petrol with 4 pipes.

Had an XF rental car and already want the XF estate 3.0d great car, makes you feel 'special' only problem is that bloody sat nav unit is horrendous, delayed, and confusing as hell. A price I am more than willing to pay!

From inside the car it is DEFINITELY too quiet!

It should sound more C63.

The friend with the XF-R is actually looking for an exhaust for it, seems that Milltek and Spires are the usual suspects?

Dream daily driver that, apart from the rear strip across the back that intersects the lights, they just look odd in black pack form!

that strip would look amazing in shadow chrome though.

The Sportbrake is a really nice car to drive. Even in 2.2l form it covers the ground fast enough for our advanced years. The US market has potential for a V8 Sportbrake and would, I believe, be welcomed there. It would need AWD as well though for the winter months. I find it difficult to believe that JLR has either the spare time or test and development resources to play around with cars they do not intend to launch just to tease the journos.

Not really gotten on with the current XF, although I know a lot of people love them. I personally think it looks a bit dated so I'm holding out for what JLR have in store for the next gen model.

I don't think we should see the relatively small market for petrol V8 estates in the UK as a deterrent.

The US market would love this car. So would Asia.

And if we have it in the UK too, thats a bonus.

Please build it , Jaguar, please...
