i didn't realise that the XF's i see with an 's' on the back were Derv. Thought they had the supercharged petrol in it allready.
can't beleive they didn't
get this built now!!
Not entirely true, the old XF's had a silver S by themselves, or SV8 and some of them had the older supercharged V8.can't beleive they didn't
get this built now!!

Awesome. Build it please. Estates are the future.
The luxury estate segment has long been overlooked and too many of the target audience buy SUV's, cars like this can change that. I.e non Germanic and contain a little soul. It's a domino effect, introduce at the same time as 2.0d and they will encourage each other.

A friend has the current XF-R, I really enjoyed it except for the "e diff", build quality was great, ride was quite amazing, it was super quite (road and wind noise) exhaust was too quiet but it was quick enough!
It was also cheap to buy at £31k for 11k miles!
Whenever the owner and I talk about his car we both comment on how great it would be if they made an estate version.
Lol what do you drive if you think the XF-R has a quiet exhaust? It was also cheap to buy at £31k for 11k miles!

I saw one of these in the UK last week, exactly the same spec. Looked (and sounded) nice
Really? You saw an XFR-S Sportbrake?Did surprise me when they went on the record saying they were only building derv estates, then i saw (and heard) a petrol with 4 pipes.
The Sportbrake is a really nice car to drive. Even in 2.2l form it covers the ground fast enough for our advanced years. The US market has potential for a V8 Sportbrake and would, I believe, be welcomed there. It would need AWD as well though for the winter months. I find it difficult to believe that JLR has either the spare time or test and development resources to play around with cars they do not intend to launch just to tease the journos.
