Hugely regret selling mine. Ticks all the boxes: fast, challenging, (to my eyes) great looking, not silly money (yet).
Think I need another in my life.
Man of his word! I'd always thought of the TR as the 'Americanised' Ferrari,... until I saw a black one the other day on (BBS CH?) 360 Challenge Stradale wheels. Literally made me stop and stare in a way a modern one just can't. Gorgeous Think I need another in my life.

I saw this on Twitter y'day and offered Chris an original 512TR sales pamphlet to go with his new car (I wasn't expecting any money for it - just be nice for it to be united with a TR). Never even acknowledged me.
Unbelievable.
That's out of character. Are you sure the mail reached him?Unbelievable.
Great choice of car, enjoy!
Had my Testarossa now for nearly 11 years and love her to bits. When Evo featured it last month, they also fell in love with it too.
Its not all love and this year has been a bit finacially "challenging" with the diff exploding and recently the rad giving up after it was MOT'ed. However its 30 years old nearly, what 30 year doesn't need some TLC?

Well done Chris and great write up. I feel exactly the same about the 512tr and will undoubtedly own one at some point in the near future as a keeper.
No point buying a low mileage car as you would pay a lot and would be scared to use it.
Be nice if you could find time to post up a video of you driving it 'properly' before the summer ends.
Why are people commenting on build quality? I mean really FFS!!!

Your car looked great in Evo. I recall them saying it was a bit shy with regard to a lack of decibels however Had my Testarossa now for nearly 11 years and love her to bits. When Evo featured it last month, they also fell in love with it too.

Checking the background of the car stable, spot the Porsche, the discovery and what could be a BMW/crx del sol, hard to tell from angle and the tail light design. The stable could do with some fresh paint, seems a shame to keep them in a dusty old barn. Maybe an investment in a carcoon would be a good idea.
B842MPB, don't ask me why but I've never forgotten the reg number of the press Ferrari Testarossa that was used in 84, perhaps it was being an impressionable 10 year old and my first bedroom wall poster car.
Just such an epic car, now all we need is a
CHIS HARRIS VIDEO, please and thank-you

Mr Harris has been prised away from his love of the Porka by nothing less that an Italian car loved by Crocket & Tubbs.
The comment about a 180degree V12 is priceless as is the wheel "thin, free from puerile lumps and indentations"
A magnificant engine but always thought the 312 looked out of proportion.
Interested to hear his further comments about it.

While the Testarossa was introduced solely because Enzo Ferrari was outraged that a Corvette was being used to portray a Daytona, mocked-up vehicles were still used on the show even after the Testarossa's introduction, largely due to the high cost of the real Ferraris ($181,000 in 1986, compared to some $35,000 for the McBurnie Daytona Spyders used previously). As a result, a DeTomaso Pantera with a Testarossa body kit was built by Carl Roberts, the man who had acquired the two replica Daytonas after their removal from the show. This Pantera replica was used for much of the stunt driving scenes or whenever there was a risk of wrecking the real car. There was also a defect with genuine Testarossas that caused them to stall when executing high speed spins, and the use of the Pantera allowed producers to bypass this. The modified DeTomaso Pantera can be distinguished from the bona fide Testarossas in several scenes by its higher ride height, different wheels and the visible seams on its body panels.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
