If I could dream my ideal BRZ Sti, I would want forged internals and a small turbo; or a 100hp KERs would work too plus forged internals.

Struggling to understand why you'd want forged pistons etc. if you're not running significant boost or much higher revs? confused

Isn't it a bit late now to be bringing out a higher spec one? I'd have thought they'd be looking at the next version and bringing it out with that rather than playing about a 5yr old car

Bet it'll turn out to be the same mechanical spec, just loads of appearance changes.

I hope to be wrong!

The want is strong with this one. There aren't many new cars I'd buy (really just the Mustang with a realistic budget, but an E63 or Merc X-class weirdly) but this is tempting. I'll be staying tuned for the official launch next week.

I'm Actually buzzing ...it do t think they'll continue in brz mk2 so this could be nice little facelifted beast ..
I could imagine it with 450hp the car's lovely but it was underpowered as it was ..also Impreza Type RA is coming out this month ..rumours saying loads of carbon fibre light weight more aggressive design and obviously more hp .. think they need fire out something nice as they didn't make good car last 20 years in my opinion

Unfortunately it's been confirmed this isn't going to be a BRZ STI, but the WRX STI Type RA instead...

Keep holding your breath, nothing to see here.

Really? It looks suspiciously like a brz in these shots..

http://blog.caranddriver.com/this-camod-subaru-brz...

I'd argue there's something to see here (probably disappointment after discovering it's still only 200bhp..)

I've no doubt there is one, but I'm just proferring MotorAuthority's claim that Subaru have refuted it being ready for details on 8th June, and that it's the RA launch instead.

Would be pretty comical if they released a STI version of the BRZ that had everything upgraded but the engine, being the engine that gets the most complaints. Would make a great base for those that are prepared to turbo/supercharge it though if it has all the same goodies as the new RA.

There has to be a good reason why they will not offer a high performance of the BRZ/GT86, is the Supra coming back and a high performance BRZ/GT86 would impinge on the Supra's sales?
