does anyone speed all the time?
Discussion
This is a bit of a silly question as, like you sort of touched on, there are so many different variables including some days it being safe do speed on a road, other days not safe to drive at the speedlimit.
Out of town, I'm more interested in keeping my eyes on the roads and what's going on than watching my speedo constantly. I have a reasonable idea as to what speed I'm traveling at most of the time but prefer to drive to the conditions than a (in some situations seemingly random) limit.
There's a road near me that used to be a NSL single carriageway (so 60mph) and there were few accidents. They dropped the limit to 50mph and there have been more accidents since the drop.

Ah yes, everyone else is a prat except you. The thing about hazards s that they appear suddenly even when you think you are "keeping your eyes on the road". The old biddy can pull out in front of you. The kid can misjudge an overtake. The child can step out. But because you think the rules don't apply to you, someone gets killed instead of having a close shave.

The situations im talking about are usually not near many other cars, i.e. at quiet times on quietish roadsy2blade said:
Speeding in 30 and 40 = big no-no imho
Depends though - loads of 30s and 40s round here that are completely inappropriate (used to be NSL for example). In a "kosher" 30 or 40 limit it often isn't appropriate to even go that fast though.

Im not talking 70 in a 30, im talking
45 in a 30, 60 in a 40, and 90-100 on a 70.
I personally think, apart from housing estates and busy roads near schools etc that provided you keep your eyes on the road you can speed safely at them speeds.
But maybe im stupid. To me its the dheads who almost seem like thier trying to crash that are the real dangers, and old biddies
Ah newbie, lets attack him for his naivety.......and show judging by the responses so far, how many politicaly correct assholes are here. Spelling ,mistakes...grammar et al. 45 in a 30, 60 in a 40, and 90-100 on a 70.

I'm not going to admit to breaking the law on a public forum and I doubt anyone else is! What I will say is that I never break 30mph limits or urban 40mph limits; not only is it rarely ever safe to do so, but speed cameras and police are just too common in such areas. Obviously I vary my speed according to hazards and conditions, but for many urban 40mph limits I very commonly actually drive at 30mph cause I don't think that 40 is safe.
