A number plate I'm semi-interested in didn't sell at auction. It now says future auction on DVLA's site. Does this mean it will go online or will end up going to the next proper auction?
If you get the usual emails from the DVLA about auctions, they often put them up for sale at the reserve price, first come first served.Although I've not had an email for this from the last auction, so looks like they might not be doing it this time.....

Because they wanted to? It's a Phaeton so a nice thing.
It frustrates me that people think nice plates should be on nice cars. Not the case.
I agree, if a plate appears to cost more than the car it is on should the owner not have more common sense and bought a better car rather then have an over priced status symbol. It frustrates me that people think nice plates should be on nice cars. Not the case.

Where do you actually stand?
There was a Rolls Royce around Wembley years ago with H 6666. When the owner died, his wife had the plate on her little Honda. Why shouldn't she? It was great. She wasn't hard up, all she needed was her little runabout and she just wanted her late husband's plate on her car. There must be all sorts of reasons why people do it. Good luck to them.
Single singles are quite often passed down from generation to generation in very old-money well-to-do families and so as they are part of the family, selling is not even considered.
Old money tend to be very strange with how they spend what little money they have. I say that, as they often have many millions locked up in assets and land but don't actually have that much disposable money for Aventadors etc. Not that they'd want anything more than a 10 year old Subaru forester anyway!

It belongs to Lanarkshire - probably the Council. G0 is the Lord Provost of Glasgow's number, which it appears is also on a Phaeton. Used to be on a RR that kept breaking down and was therefore known as "No Go" by Glaswegians
