I like this as a concept, but think I might cringe if I saw it in real life.. as its a bit cringe worthy, but I love the wife lots.
Would the mass populace cringe if I got my "<my initial> 4 <wife initials>" on her car.?
or is it a nice gesture?
thoughts
One of my old customers had his initials followed by year of registration and then his wife initials. AA 03 SBA.Would the mass populace cringe if I got my "<my initial> 4 <wife initials>" on her car.?
or is it a nice gesture?

Meant nothing to anyone other than them.

I would say no.The sad thing is that that could be displayed correctly, and be awesome.
But they've had to get a plate made up incorrectly, and not showing the supplier / postcode and all the other stuff it's supposed to have.
Police /DVLA should revoke that, and re-auction it.
And they're on double yellows.

Rubbish! My company van came from the ford dealership with no BS markings on the plates, guess it should be taken off us? My own car has no marking on the front plate & passed MOT no issues. The sad thing is that that could be displayed correctly, and be awesome.

Sounds like some jealousy here, especially regarding the 'new money' comments.
Not my personal taste in vehicles, although I am slowly seeing some of the appeal. Not defending the illegal parking though.

The British Standard for number plates
The British Standard sets out the characteristics of the number plate. This includes visibility, strength and
reflectivity. To meet the British Standard, each number plate must be permanently and legibly marked with the
following information.
- The British Standard number (currently BS AU 145d)
- The name, trademark or other way of identifying the manufacturer or supplier
- The name and postcode of the supplying outlet
document can be found here

IMHO a 'bad' plate is one which requires dodgy fonts, black screws to misrepresent letters and dyslexic spelling. The sad thing is that that could be displayed correctly, and be awesome.

A BSI markings and with the spacing a few mm out isn't worth worrying about.
