Nothing, providing its not too low, the seals are ok on windows, you don't mind being a bit cramped.

Great for sliding about thou
Well if there's enough snow on the road that you need to worry about the ride height, you won't be going anywhere in any carlaugh Even a snowcat would be no use unless every single other person on your commute is also in one.

MX5s are just as entertaining to drive (and uncomfortable) in winter as they are in summer so why put it away? The only genuine issue for using it through winter is rust and it's cheaper to get it rustproofed than buying another car.

Rubbish, it's when it all get cleared to centres of the road and pavements when parking it makes horrible crushing noises. Mine was a little lower, though.

In summer it's more fun with roof off all of the time, in winter it's bad for the roof. Also, people don't seem to see the damn car either!

Mine lives outside all year round as the garage is full of motorbikes and the cheap pattern roof is still fine after several years. I'm just saying it's really no big deal using one through winter and you can always get a hardtop. ..lot cheaper than another car and I couldn't stomach driving something boring for half the year. Certainly wouldn't do it to avoid crunching noises.

I used an MX5 over last winter in the snow for pizza delivering and it was fine. Pussys the lot of you wink

ETA: It did need some rust sorting at MOT time though.

...sell the MX-5, why would you want to get rid of the best car you own?

It was at this point (Switzerland in January) that I was wishing I'd fitted some winter tyres. Otherwise everything was fine. Toasty warm inside with the roof up.

Much as I love MX5s I think that's contentiouslaugh I suppose if you include factors other than pure driving experience though you may have a point.

Garlick has an MX5 and wants a winter hack... I have no MX5 and want one for winter (and beyond you understand) smile
