Sorry im rekindling this thread LOL.
Ive just test drove both cars and here's my View
M135i
Looks Crap
Insides Crap
Drives FAST, very FAST, great gearbox Lots of fun, but as I thought has traction issues in anything that involves damp/wet I was spinning in 1 2 and 3.
Christ, what kind of driving were you doing? It was damp today and in my car, i.e. one I know and am familiar with I was giving it a proper beasting and I was having to be incredibly ham fisted to get it to spin up. The fact that you are doing this on a test drive (presumably with a salesman next to you) in a car you aren't familiar with suggests you are either incredibly talented or incredibly brave. Surprised at saying the inside was crap. Sitting in my friend's 118i I was pretty impressed to be honest, nice place to be.
The 1-Series has a fantastic interior IMO. - Sat in the M135i at my local dealer and would love one. I love the "bread van" shape of the 3-door…actually, I prefer the overall shape and proportions to the 2-Series, which looks a bit too tall and stubby to me.[quote=Clivepar with the competition uote=Patrick Bateman]Surprised at saying the inside was crap. IMHO the interior is Ok, but Isn't up to par with the competition like the A3 or, especially, the new A class. Still there's plenty of other reasons to buy a car though.

And pray tell, just how did you manage that?Perhaps just the flashing lights on the dash - Even I can manage that.
Proper wheelspin = TC off, and most people on their arse in a hedge?
I'd be happy with the interiors of any of the A45/M135i/S3 trio...though I feel that a manual 'box with an electric parking brake is a weird mix. Electic parking brakes tend to work better with a paddleshift (which of course is the only 'box on the A45 and an option on the other two).
One thing that irritated me in the Jag XF I drove recently though was that the stop-start system only worked if you sat at a junction with your foot on the footbrake...the engine restarted if you engaged the electric brake and took your foot off. WTF?

Would that be the A class with a stuck on low rent iPad?Would that be the A3 with a barrage of fussy buttons and fake chrome?
Interesting...
I've got a second chance at a Java Green 14 plate S3 as the previous owner had finance issues.
It's lovely colour and spec too with B&O and Pano roof. Only thing missing is the LED headlights.
Getting some second thoughts though after reading this thread and from the price to change... maybe I should look at the previous gen RS3?
I currently own a 13 plate fully loaded M135 which is fun but does have traction issues on challenging surfaces.

However you try to turn it, have a sit in three and say the 1 series is the best looking of the bunch with a straigt face.Would that be the A3 with a barrage of fussy buttons and fake chrome?

None of them are flawless and I'm no big fan of the A3 interiour either, but the 1 series just feels lower rent and outdated in comparison.

The A class interior is one of the worst/cheapest interiors going ... the 1series and A3 are leagues ahead in everything from materials to actual software.None of them are flawless and I'm no big fan of the A3 interiour either, but the 1 series just feels lower rent and outdated in comparison.
