Yes, there are a few around £600 but all have some sort of small defects etc. Bumper damage, lacquer peel, short tax.
I paid 450 for mine back in January, came with 4 months tax and 11 months test. FSH but there were a few dints on the NSR door and one in the rear bumper. The odometer lcd had also stopped working which is a common fault on these and the Acura equivalent. Drove it through winter and all it needed was a rear break pipe section which wasn't too pricey. Only niggle was an ABS fault light which wouldn't go out despite the brakes working fine. Sold it 5 months later for £375 on ebay. Top winter shedding!

For once I can shout;
"I can beat that"!
Just bought a BMW 320d from a guy in Glasgow and on the drive at the rear if his house is one with nearly 130k on the clock
"You can have it for £300"
Looked round it, pretty much mint, the only thing that stopped me was I had travelled from Derbyshire in the train for his BMW and faced a 5hr drive back home, logistics made it impracticable.
So £300 versus your shed; for once I believe I've beaten you to it.
Or would have, if I'd bought it....
Bugger.
Forgive me if I had misunderstood you, but you undertook a long train journey, to look at a car, decided it was too far to drive it home and then went and got back on the train?

To me it reads like he has bought a car from someone in Glasgow and was offered another cheap bargain basement car (a Honda Legend) for cheaper than this weeks SOTW. He decided not to purchase it due to the logistics involved of coming back up again to collect said Legend.

lovely looking interior and expect it wafts along nicely but the outside.... frown I know looks aren't everything particularly in shed territory but it doesn't even have the 'unfussy but smart' look which Audis of that era have - DULL DULL DULL

That's a fantastic effort smile

In reply to a previous question, yes you did understand but u didn't make it clear;
I bought a BMW 329d mSport from the guy, and he then showed me the Honda Leg-end that was parked to the rear.
I'd have to make a return journey on another day to fetch it and as I've just been in hospital for a kidney op, I passed.

Normally I'm very open minded when it comes to sheds choice in cars, but I don't think I get this one. I'm generally a Honda fan too, liking even some of their most left field offerings. But a 4-door legend is just too fugly in my eyes.

But going off the responses in here I'm well outnumbered on that opinion!

Provided you can insure it for a reasonable premium, this is an awesome shed.

Comfy, relaxed and refined. Like all shed-o-nomics propositions cost of major repairs in the event anything goes wrong is a significant consideration. Finding secondhand bits for one of these is (I am guessing) probably going to almost impossible. If you can confirm that the timing belt (I think it has belt driven cams) has been changed then this is a screaming buy. Even if it needs to be done this car is probably fantastic value at the asking price.

I have always liked these cars a lot......understated wafting is very much my bag.

My only concern is that V6 Auto which will have a BAD drink problem in exchange for only 'ok' performance.

For this money you can buy an LS400 and as someone who has previously owned one, let me tell you they are sublime, the 4.0 V8 is a corker and is one of the most glorious things you will hear at full chat whilst probably using less fuel than the old Honda ride on mower.

It's nice, I like it but I reckon you can do even better.........

I completely agree, this week's first paragraph in particular is a shed (and possibly literary) classic!

I love the way the alloys are modelled on cheap Halfrauds wheel trims!

And the original Legend has RS6esque wheel arches. Tasty.

There is just a certain rightness about the slim headlight/grille arrangement and pert rear. Looks long, low and wide, although to see one on the road now they look pretty dinky! Something that can never be replicated in new cars with crash legislation forcing ever more bulbous shapes...

I really liked the original model.
Nice Maidstone number plate there from 1986.. Making me feel a bit nostalgic as I ran my Grandmother's VW Passat GL5 for a few years which was D294 MKM. Scrapped now after it got rear-ended, which is a shame as it would also make an interesting shed.

what so you would pay £900 for the PH car, than one with a shorter tax for £500 ?
There is a legend with a full mot and tax ,scuff on bumper and its at £295 ,that's the one I would be looking at

The front-driver Legends do nothing for me, but the most recent AWD ones look quite interesting.

The question is, if one wants a cheap (to buy) AWD barge, should one go for a last-gen Legend, a VW Phaeton or an old Audi A8?
Depends whether you like handling, or not.

The Honda SH-AWD system still works better than many torque-vectoring systems and you can have some real fun on a wet roundabout, if you are in manual and brave enough to dial out the initial understeer with power. The poor thing is deluded into thinking it's a GT86...and it has the usual Honda extremely pleasant to drive thing when you're being sensible.

If you can handle the image and reliability problems of a VAG and are more interested in straight-line then the DKW Meisterklasse 8 whatever thing.
