In pictures and on paper this sounds brilliant. Unfortunately, not sure it would drive as well as it looks and I expect the price will be huge, so putting it in competition with much more exotic cars.

perhaps less is more. I recently got a bogo 500 as a hire car for the weekend when I was visiting the UK. I really enjoyed it.

The entire body is constructed from carbon fibre? Some external skins and add-ons maybe, but surely it's based on a regular 500 body shell?

In 1984 there was a short-lived car mag that featured a Ford Granada with Porsche 928 running gear, (named The Mako iirc) and a Fuat uno that had been cut longitudinally down the middle, widened by about 12", welded back together and exotic engine inserted.
Pure dreamland stuff and total bks.

I quite like that.

I wish Fiat would stop messing around with their 1.4 engines though and shoe horne the 1.75 into the Abarth Punto Evo. At the moment it can barely be considered a hot hatch with its current engine.

I also wish they would offer an entry level Abarth 500 or Panda with a tuned up twin air. Provided it managed a 0-60 in under 9 seconds and was reasonably priced they would be able to build up more of a following.

I quite like that but it's likely cost is far beyond what anyone would want to pay for it...

A 1.4 putting out 240BHP? I think the keyword here is 'concept'.
Given I had 400+ out of my old Fiat 1.4 turbo I don't think that is particularly outrageous especially if it was the multi-air engine instead of the regular yamaha timed 16v block...

Zender - that is a blast from the past! They used to make the most awful body kits in the 80's... still do..

1.4, 240hp, 1035kg, huge wheels (traction issues??) and 6.5 to 62? That's CTR numbers with 300 kg less... "concept" is the key word here.

OH and it SURELY needs more chav brake vents for those tiny teeny disc brakes hahaha

The OH's Abarth 595 is pretty quick for a little un, 1.4 but great fun.
They'd have to something about the fuel tank though, the Abarth still only has a 35 litre tank which means every 200 odd miles you're filling up again!!

That flip front is a cool idea but the execution is kind of pointless as all the covers over the engine etc remain. A lot of power, but I'd take any 500 with improved steering feel over a hotter engine.

Hmm, my Abarth 500 Esseesse is timed at 6.9 to 60 with 160 bhp, an extra 80 bhp only cuts this by 0.4 seconds? Certainly traction on initial take off in mine even with the TTC is poor, because the car is so light! This would be bonkers fun though. Looks good at front, but back end is naff
