How well do they take lots of miles, there are a number of cars for sale with c90k miles on the clock which im considering.
Would it be a mistake to get into a high mileage B7 RS4?
What are prices doing?
Prices are doing well, i think they have actually went up in the last 18 months since i bought mine. Pretty confident i could advertise it a grand more and take the same as i paid.Would it be a mistake to get into a high mileage B7 RS4?

Mileage wise... i honestly wouldn't be put off by a higher mile car. 90k is less than average, really. The engines are *touch wood* bulletproof, very few horror stories there.
90k car you'd expect would be on its second set of discs (£1400 job), either have replacement DRC (another £1400+ job) or on coilovers or have had the DRC checked and confirmed to be OK.
Clutch and flywheel replacement can be pricey, at 90k this may be something you should consider.
Also consider if its false economy buying a cheaper 90k car then putting 20k on it and struggling to sell as people get scared by the 6 figure mileage - not that you really should imo!
Expect some bolster wear on a 90k car, bolsters are large and pronounced and often get rubbed on the way in and out of the car, and whilst piloting, so wear quickly. New leather can be had relatively cheaply though, just getting a trimmer to fit it may cost you.
Like any car, service history is essential, check for coil pack recall, DRC check and all the major maintenance i mentioned above ^^. Buy on condition too. If it's been well looked after, good history then i think you can't go too far wrong!
Also check out the B7 section on www.rs246.com - lots of help and info.

RS4 B7s just don't seem to be selling!
I was had a budget of £17k but have been put off as while I have spent the time looking I've noticed that NONE have sold in the past 2 months.
Prices are falling, so I want to wait for them to settle, any idea why?
Where do you think they will settle?

I don't really agree that they are falling! They are reasonably stable just now, imo.I was had a budget of £17k but have been put off as while I have spent the time looking I've noticed that NONE have sold in the past 2 months.

what about the s4 b6 4.2 v8. was that not a hot audi. ?? same v8 ? !!
I've had a manual avant one of these for four years now. Much underrated car. Ultimately not quite as fast or sharp handling as a B7 RS4, but not that far adrift. Given that it has no real problems (i.e. no coking or suspension issues and marginally more economical) it is an alternative that is worth considering. Sounds great.I am looking at a low mileage rs4 avant in the classifieds and have seen quite a lot of horror stories re coking, drc, clutches etc etc and am wondering if I am mad to get into one. I want to use it for 6 months and not get to hurt price wise. The car has is a 07 car and has been serviced 09 11 and 13 by audi and will be serviced by audi before I buy. Appreciate most people post are about things that gone wrong but I haven't seen too many people that have posted about cars that have gone well. Take on the chin mpg tyres etc but dont want to be paying a premium for a good low mileage car and then get hit with big bills. Love to hear any thoughts?
