Keep seeing one of these in Shirley, wondering what it was!
A stolen car. That's what it was.

Had the loan of a c63 for an hour at Mercedes World. They let you drive it like you stole it,well nearly!
While not having the sharpest of handling,as a blinding quick luxo barge with a fab v8 soundtrack it seriously impressed me.
As noted, probably the best daily driver for a member of PH.

If only I had £70k frown
You don't need £70k. Just negotiate a great lease deal...!

A second hand Lexus ISF would deliver the same thrills, have the same build quality (if not better) and beat the manual tranny on the Merc.
And a twenty year old Lamborghini would deliver even bigger thrills...

Salesman:How have you found the ownership experience?
Customer:The dissapointment is filling her up.
Salesman:I understand. Fuel is expensive right...
Customer:Dammit man it's not the MONEY!
Salesman:Sorry?
Customer:She's faster than LIGHT before I fill her up. Afterwards she feels at LEAST 1.8% less torquey!
Salesman:Sir do we have the CAR for YOU!

I love these.

For me the surprise about the C63 was that there was far more to it than a big dumb muscle car. The steering in particular has real finesse to go with the brute force. I'm not a huge AMG fan as a general rule, but I'd take one over an M3 any day.

Do they last though? American AMG forums seems to think the M113K was the last one engineered for 300.000 miles.
And dont get them started on the V12s...

Lose the black striped down the side and hand me the order book! Wonder what it'd cost a month on PCP, lol, :P

IS-F? honestly? with the funny looking exhaust? hahaha
Wow, possibly the most pathetic attempt to mock a car...

I was initially after a C63, mostly for the aural drama alone, but after looking at the options I personally think the IS-F is better prospect.

That said, I'm still determined to have a fling with a C63 at some point

I love the V8.

Could never get past the looks though, horrid doesn't even begin to describe it.

This part looks ridiculous. It is completely massive, plain and ruins the lines of the car.

I went for the saloon, I don't really like the C coupe. Mine is a basic spec car but I love it. Properly hilarious engine that pops, bangs and gargles all day long.

Worst "my other car is a GT3RS" post ever! biggrin

Perfect combo.

I think the 507 coupe looks good in this colour:

Probably not the perfect place to ask but can anyone give me an indication of general running costs and reliability of the C63 in general?

Not in the sense of car tax and fuel but servicing costs, general consumables etc over a couple of year period?

Feel free to PM me if you don't won't to disclose it on the thread.

I'm also interested in general opinions from current owners over the day to day usability and reliability too please.

Was thinking exactly same. The dreaded 3/4 panel - many modern cars suffer. My particular favourite is the Ford B-Max, particularly challenging, but this is almost up there. Mind you, what do I know. I like the stacked pipes on an IS-F (great sound too!). As for the C63, estate for me please.

The whole car looks crap. A horrible body, with awful add ons. Not really sure if the management were drunk at the time this went though approval.

What he said.

It would also be good to know more about the noise I heard regarding earlier engines destroying themselves due to incompatible metal used in the lifters/cams. Anybody aware of any incidents?

The coupe, the supposedly most stylish model of a car range, is in this case the ugliest.

And 70 grand for a C class.

70 grand...

That engine really is just perfect. I've done 70k km with mine and still love it as much as in the beginning. An all-time great.
