I do like the car but at 32k just think for that you could have a used 911 turbo or an m135i what I'm saying is for the price you could have much better

An underpowered Lotus? No thanks. The only Lotus worth buying is the V6. But again, pricey for what you get.
The best deal out there? A '06-'07 997 turbo, imho. But I'm Italian and can't afford the yearly property tax (introduced last year: €20 per kW over the 185th... madmadmadmad)

You could also have 30 Mk1 MX-5's, you cannot compare new and used, they are different markets. As the the BMW they are aimed at different markets with only a little overlap. And the RCZ looks indefinitely nicer than the M135i, which I think looks plain awkward.

These PH "reviews" read more like amateur blogs than the work of a professional and experienced motoring writer. They are often like the useless forum posts where a 19 year old reviews his new 330d against the Saxo VTR that is the only other car he's driven

Please say it isn't true LOH - I know you've been looking and asked for suggestions, but why not a 911/E90 M3 etc?

You didn't did you?

Going by the example posted, I really don't think that is the case.

I don't think it follows that being gay means you buy a certain car or are clueless, there are gay petrolheads, I know of a gay bloke with a TVR, not all gay men are massively camp queens.
TVR are a bit campy and theatrical though, they're like the Harley of the car world...

And if the did then it would, wtf!!! Only 1.6! Why not V6 N/A... Fail. If it was V6 it's how heavy! Fail. Damned if they do, damned if they don't. And that's before costing in a bespoke mid engineer platform. wink
Renault managed it a few years back with the Clio. That concept in a slick looking coupe (I like the rcz looks), with a smaller V6 would be very nice (probably still wouldnt get past the accountants though!!!)

IMO this car is false advertising... the shape makes it look like the engine is in the rear, sadly it is not. If they would be brave enough to do that I would applaud it and I am sure they would sell more of these. As they seem to be rarer than an honest politician.
It has a very decent sized usable boot though, epecially with rear seats down.

Yes you are correct and when it was launched in 2001 the price was... £26k
Renault handed the development and production to TWR. The face lifted, better handling version, TWR engineered, was built by Renault when TWR hit the rocks.
All things are possible but how much would it cost to make a mid engined RCZ R happen? How many would actually hand over the cash for such a beast? Not many I'd wager, it would be the usual response, French tat, for £xxK you could buy A used or B new. One thing that is certain is, if £32k mucho moolah, mid-engined it will be more.

Why would anyone in the market for the Peugeot want an M135i ? Its a completely different type of car.

Not even close, one of the sillier statements I've read on here.
Show's a lack of knowledge.

Impressive CO2 figure for something with that amount of power!

Well done Peugeot
Is this really what the world has come to? wink
hehe Well I won't be buying one nor do I really care about CO2 or MPG much, but it is an impressive figure when My 2006 Renault Megane with the F4RT engine produced 200+ IIRC and was expensive to tax because of this (MPG average was also only 24, worse than the 4.8l I had afterwards…)
but we don't really need to know about co2 this and i can save 0.00000000000001 of fuel the reason we buy sports cars is to drive quickly all though the figures for peugeot are really good

jacko well said and for the record i myself don't see a tvr as being campy i see it as a classic british muscle car
