Not a car I'm particularly interested in but nonetheless I'm pleased to see Peugeot making a return to form with this and the 208 GTI.

Like that a lot, just prefer the front end styling of the older RCZ not this facelift version.

Never noticed how much that car looks like an original TT from certain angles.
I think the RCZ is far better looking than all iterations of the TT. I never liked the soap bar design. This has nicer features (bubble roof) and a better resolved front /rear. The TT looked to my eyes the same profile from back and the front.

I agree that this is the most alluring car Pug has made in a long while!

Gorgeous looking car - especially in that colour. Sounds a real winner. Bit pricey tho'. Not too heavy for a new car either.

I'm really glad to see manufactuers are beginning to fit proper bespoke brake set ups to their performance vehicles.

Alcon make some bloody brilliant brake set-ups, I hope this is the same here.

I had a look in the cabin of a normal RCZ the other day, and it really is rather a nice premium looking place to sit. Stitched leather dashboard, big analogue clock, etc.

Having worked for a few car manufacturers (Pug Skoda Audi Alfa MG Rover Ford Vauxhall Mitsubishi Seat)and being a big petrol head I can honestly say that the RCZ was probably the most disappointing car ive ever driven.

It looked the part but felt cheap inside and just wasn't anywhere near quick enough. Interior felt plasticy and not solid and the gearbox is lose to say the least (bit like stirring a bucket of water with a twig) the clutch is far to light as well. The handling was great and it would corner well but it just didn't have the pull out of the corner that it needed. Pug made this to challenge the TT but the build quality and the performance just isnt anywhere near where it needs to be to be considered a real challenger. id take a basic TT over an RCZ anyday of the week right now and with the New TT due for launch next year (according to Audi at their summer CLT training in Munich this year where i saw the new TT and the Audi S1) i think this might be to little to late for pug.....

PSA is losing money like its going out of fashion and although i appreciate what they have done in the past unless they change the company image from grandpa to young and hip i can honestly see them going out of business. (it wont happen as the french government would step in but its not looking great IMHO)

I hope that with the R models things are changing for Pug as ive owned 3 different 205 GTI's (1 1.9 and 2 1.6's), a 309GTI and a 405 Mi16 and since these cars pug have made nothing of any note that i would bother buying...

Also i go to Vence very often (in laws have a holiday home there) and would be interested to know what roads you were hammering as i know a few myself that you probably wouldnt unless you lived there!

On the Audi note the New S1 will be a monster! 234PS quattro package in both 3 and 5 dr.....

The New TT is similar in shape to the current model but becomes more edgey and sharp and with an all new chassis, digital speedo and head up display it will sell like hot cakes.............. AGAIN!

Great to see Peugeot putting out a decent hot car again, it's been a long time coming!

1280kg for a modern car is pretty light as well. The RCZ turns my head whenever I see one as its one of very few pretty cars on the road now- I just don't understand why there's an insistence on the FF layout, as someone else said it really looks like a MR car.

Richard how did the Sunderland game go?

As for the Audi thing.... I dont actually work for them but have in the past and have been lucky enough to be allowed to go on some CLT courses within my consultancy role.

Im not an Audi BORE if thats what your thinking but i can appreciate good engineering when i see it! and if anyone tries to tell me that Audi are not a very good car manufacturer then your mental.....

Practicality - I assume (but don't know) it uses elements of something like the 308. A ground up MR Peugeot would have ended up costing ~£35-40k at a guess.

I quite like the RCZ but I do not like it's new nose and the spoiler looks a bit rubbish when it comes up. I did own a TT mk2 for 3 years and I know they are everywhere, but I still slightly prefer them.

Its a great looking car but for that amount of money I would rather a brand new GT 86 and have money left over for a Fensport stage 1 turbo.

I know you can't compaire modded cars to base models but I feel the lack of RWD is just such a downer to the pug.

Exactly this, it's...unsatisfactory.
Completely agree, it's begging for a rear-mid engine (how about a V6 twin turbo, at that? hehe)

How refreshing to read again of a Peugeot that drives well. Long live the revolution.

Now they need to advertise it with Ari Vatanen at the wheel, speaking French with his heavy Finnish accent.

Didn't go too well!

i take your points but i simply must disagree, ive yet to see a TT with more than 10k on the clock not look or feel tired, have a look at the side bolsters on the seats and you'll see what i mean, the myth of quality is just that, propagated by people that claim to know a lot about cars.

Audi use Faurecia a lot for their interioirs, Peugeot own Faurecia so you cant tell me the raw materials are much better

The RCZ is made by Magna not peugeot, next to some pretty spicy metal!

as for le mans, they may win the battle, but they lost the ILMC to peugeot in 2010 and 2011, so they lost the war.
