Flicking idly through ph classifieds as usual and wondering how long til the RS3/M135i/A45 AMG etc get to circa £15k (just about affordable for me)

Or will they gain classic status and hardly depreciate much like the Focus RS mk2 which you can still pay virtually the brand new price for a 2009 car..

Rarity will affect the price

They are selling tonnes of 135 bimmers so they should be good value pretty quick

I think the M135i will be £15k long before the A45 and RS3, purely because of production numbers. The used values of the Mk2 Focus RS are ridiculous.

The used values of any RS or Cosworth Fords always seem to hold values very high.

Though not sure if the 2.9l 24v Granada "Cosworth" retains anything over a non Cosworth variant.

I'd go with that, maybe 5 from a retailer.

Looks like a M135 for me in 2017 :-D may never get to own RS3, A45, Bmw 1M and Focus RS if they stubbornly stay 20k plus for a decent example.

I think Focus RS prices were kept high by specialist dealers buying up all used stock and setting the rate plus high demand. Can't stomach paying 20k for a soon to be 5 year old Ford hatch.

Sold my lovely sapphire 2wd stage 3 for 4k back in 2002!
Wish I'd never got rid.

Even in their day their value dropped like stones. I paid 1600 for a 6 year old in 2000 what an amazing car (back then) for the money
