We have a film crew in today doing some documentary stuff. I was talking to Roland our head of stress about the interface between the EJ200 piston ring & it's corresponding sealing ring housing & managed to get the phrase "ring piece" into the conversation 5 times & "split ring piece" once

Titter!Lovely to see, the EJ is a lot like looking out my window into the workshop, difference is, your one is very new, shiny and powerful.
Our ones are much older and aren't designed to go fast. Great to see so much similarities between the old Avons and Olympus
Oh did you go to the KNEX build of the bloodhound I saw something briefly on FB while on holiday and wondered if the team was involved?

Almost impossible yes, not totally impossible. You have to remember the RR CAD models are not exactly as per the engine either.
that was kinda what i was getting at, i presumed it was vanishingly unlikely for there to be a gross mistake, but i'm not sure what 'fidelity' these cad models go to. With all the little pipes and fasteners on a jet engine the possibility for unacceptably close tolerances was presumably still present.Glad it fits, either way
