Unfortunately it failed to answer the one question that everyone wants to know.....
Is it really 40mph faster round a corner than a MP4-12C??
LOL. Leave him alone, he is 'armless I tell thee.Is it really 40mph faster round a corner than a MP4-12C??
Being a Christian man I will beat you with my tambourine if you do not desist
Dear Porsche, please fire (read: as in 'redundant' not shoot with German luger pistol) whomever is responsible for signing off the visual design of this car, its a mess - interior and exterior.

Bl00dy fast and bl00dy ugly. The rear wheel arches and air intakes look hideous, just like saddlebags.
Dare I say it but too fast to be fun on public roads and hardly a supermodel in the looks department
Porsche is a high end sports car and I'd rather spend £140k on the last of the Gallardo's, a true SUPERcar in terms of looks and performance
But I suspect the Porsche does everything quicker?Dare I say it but too fast to be fun on public roads and hardly a supermodel in the looks department

I've driven a Gallardo on track and to be honest compared to Ferrari and Porsche it felt so dull in comparison, which was so upsetting as I'd hankered for a Gallardo for years, I eventually drove one and instantly did not want one any more.

I'm not sure if you are serious. It's not the end of the matter just because YOU say it is, surely?I don't agree with all the nay-sayers on the styling / price / handling / ethos or whatever for the simple reason that I have one and it is flat out the best 911 I have ever owned, including two 997 Turbo S. As is often the case with new models, the car will grow on people and it will suddenly be the new messiah when it's £90k on the used market. Sure, the 997 Turbos still look amazing on the road surrounded by run of the mill cars but park one next to a 991 and, well, not so much......
I admit that it has lost some of the look of the classic 911, but pictures don't do them justice and they look amazing in the metal. Sure they are not cheap but they are "good value" compared with the alternatives that offer that kind of performance ( and I'm not just talking about in a straight line).

Ive never heard anyone say a Gallardo is dull compared to a Porsche before, its usually the other way around!I've driven a Gallardo on track and to be honest compared to Ferrari and Porsche it felt so dull in comparison, which was so upsetting as I'd hankered for a Gallardo for years, I eventually drove one and instantly did not want one any more.

Got to love PH. In two pages the car has been castigated in virtually every post without a single person other than the OP having actually driven one.
Hi mate, alot of us posting are off the porsche forum and either own the new one or have driven one already. The demonstrators have been at dealers for a while now.Cheers.

Like I said above, I've got one. It's an amazing car. That's not to say the 997 Turbo S is not amazing too, just the 991 has moved the game on a long way, as you would expect, I suppose.APOLO1 said:

Yeah that is ridiculous, the full DVLA model description is too much, I'm surprised they didn't put the engine size and a PDK logo on too. And one for ABS maybe. Much as I'd want everyone to know I had the range-topper I think I would just have PORSCHE on the back when I get one of these (in 2020)
I am pretty sure you can spec the car without the essay on the back.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
