I really like the standard C7 Stingray and this just moves things even further in the right direction. A vert nice car indeed!
Problem is, it makes it hard to lust after the "standard" Stringray with this around the corner!! I wonder what the cost premium will be for the Z07?In the UK the C7 is around £55k, if this Z7 makes it to the (very few) UK forecourts for less than £70k I think it compares very well to its competitiors:
- about on a par with the GTR (performance and cost)
- good value next to the F-type V8
- excellent value next to the Porsche GT3, Audi R8, Aston V8
I dont see any other rivals at this performance and price point.

That's rather nice, shame it's not right hand drive and built to go round corners.
C7 Z06 not built to go round corners? Ever since C6 Z06, Corvettes are faster around all most every track (with right and left turns) than 911 GT3s, M3s, Astons, AMGs...
I think you should try websites like autoblog.com or worldcarfans.com sometimes. I guess pistonheads just did give you enough car information outside Europe for the past ten years...
Pretty excited about this car. Quite a monster. The auto aspect doesn't really bother me that much, as long as the manual is always present. Hopefully I'll see it in the flesh next month at the Toronto show.

C7 has been in design for years.....
But they've both got a steering wheel and everything!Troubleatmill said:

Also, the Jaguar plays a cheap trick to look driver focused - i.e. Put a piece of trim arcing down to shield the dash from the passenger, even though the dash is not angled towards the driver (and hence make it the same part for left and right hand drive)! At least the corvette's actually is angled towards the driver... Just a shame no RHD...Another video. http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2014/01/13/2015-z06...

It's such a goodlooking car at a really decent price.
Just why won't American manufacturers make their sports cars RHD as well; they'd sell so many of them. Its the only thing that puts me off, otherwise perfect.
RHD Corvettes have been confirmed, although they're not ready yet. The new Mustang will also be RHD.Just why won't American manufacturers make their sports cars RHD as well; they'd sell so many of them. Its the only thing that puts me off, otherwise perfect.
Want one if so.....

What are you alluding to with this? The name fits in with the naming scheme of earlier GM units. The 6L80/6L90 for six speeds. The 4L80-E/4L85 for 4 speeds.
Wouldn't be the first time ZF have allowed OEM's to build their designs under license. Ford do it with the 6HP, so wouldn't be surprised is this GM unit is the ZF 8HP built under license. It's the benchmark transmission at the mo so makes sense for GM. Probably a lot cheaper than developing their own likely ultimately inferior unit, and it keeps their transmission factories busy.Matt Bird said:
options list include a magnesium-framed 'Competition Seat', Napa [sic] leather and carbon fiber [sic] trim...
I guess that the use of "[sic]" here is employed in the name of mockery. "Napa" originates from Napa County in California, if anything it's "Nappa" that would require a "[sic]". Also, "fiber" is American English and perfectly acceptable. No need for patronising corrections.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
