RE: Chris Harris video: Audi R8 LMS
Discussion
I'm not too bothered about lack of tech specs in the video. I can google that, but the opinion and thoughts of someone driving them both back-to-back is quite nice.
A little "pick me!" but understandable.
I'd like to see the same in the dry though, so yea, pick Monkey, and let him do another /drive vid of it.

I'm not sure I'm any the wiser about either car. See the difference between the two? How? A few long shots and some engine noise?
Were you not listening to the dialogue?Edited by Kenny Powers on Thursday 16th January 10:23
What made me laugh was the required attire for both cars. Jeans & T-shirt in the road car, race suit & helmet for the race car... but doing the same thing in both!

Well the FIA GT series is just that, and you can watch it online for free.
The racings rather good, mix of pros and pro ams.
Although I disagree with your ideas on the future of endurance racing, it just needs streamlining, and hopefully give the LMP some more flexibility with design.
I agree, F1 and Le Mans bored me last year. Both the GT Series and the BlancPain endurance had me hooked. The racings rather good, mix of pros and pro ams.

BlancPain had 50 to 60 GT's at Silverstone and Nurburgring this year. The racing was frentic.

Watch the first 2 minutes of racing and you'll be hooked.

The Blancpain series is at Brands Hatch this year instead of Silverstone, I for one can't wait as I think Brands is a much better spectator circuit the racing should be good!

I'm a huge fan of Chris Harris' work (he should do Top Gear instead of the 3 Stooges) however this is verging on an Audi advertisement...
He would make an excellent Stig.Perhaps Chris will eventualy go it alone on You Tube and create his own channel?
I've always felt that people who are accomplished drivers first and journos/presenters second do far better and more insightful reviews of performance cars than people who are the other way round. The reason Chris is so good is that he combines both of these talents equally.

The Drive channel has a new video series on the quattro of which there is an introductory video on the Youtube channel "INSIDE QUATTRO"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRyS9_QYskk&lis...
Hopefully that means we're going to see some footage of Mr Harris hooning around in some Group B cars from Audi's collection. This video would be a small price to pay for that

I've always reckoned that Chris woul make an excellent presenter for a 'Final Gear' on late at night on BBC for car enthusiasts - he's not just a stig contender, his opinions are very well formed and he comes across really well on camera. So Chris Harris for sure, and from the world of journos Jethro and Henry from Evo are pretty good on camera, and from the world of racing Tim Harvey, Martin Brundle and Johnny Herbert are all very good on camera as well. There are so many interesting features they could do, and no doubt they've all got loads of great contacts to make them all happen.

Drivers Republic was excellent. I was genuinely sorry to see it disappear. I'd like to see Monkey doing something similar again. I'm not sure a TV show would ever happen though. The general public don't really care about cars. Which is exactly why Top Gear is so successful.Perhaps Chris will eventualy go it alone on You Tube and create his own channel?

You would think the Discovery Channel would be interested....if there's a budget for programmes like Chasing Classic Cars and some of the other stuff that's on there you would think there's an audience.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
